Riot Ranked has lost all meaning, please fix for season 7

Riot season 6 was a failure in terms of ranked integrity.

The pride and glory of doing ranked was destroyed.

You destroyed the dignity it had.

You know what you did.

Please do not repeat this same mistake during season 7.

Why do I care that I am in gold, when half the people around me are boosted?

Why should I care that i'm in gold when I still get placed with plats or silvers?

Why should I care, when the moment i hit plat, the only reward I get is a green snot colored border, and I will now be forced to ranked consistently unless I want to face decay.

Why should I care when all I need to do to get the maximum reward is achieve gold, when in the modern day means, NOTHING for everyone just gets their plat friends to boost them. When topic in recruitment literally say "looking for smurfs to boost me"

Find a solution, and restore the honor that was LOL ranked.

nah this has nothing to do with tencent, I am chinese and I sometimes play with my friends over the chinese server using vpn, they told me that the backlash of dq in the chinese community was much bigger than what we had in NA, and they had dq up so much later in china cuz people were complaining so much and actual numbers were dropping. Chinese players are much less casual than American and eu, and they account for majority of the money tencent get from the game. tencent isn't quite dumb enough to upset their money feeders, unlike rito.

Tencent really doesn't do anything to Rito's decision, the whole reason they brought Rito was to have western people run western game the western way so they can earn money in the western countries.

We all know DQ ruined competitive integrity this season mate, but I just want to make sure you are aware that it is not the reason you cannot climb or feel as if you are stuck in low elo. That simply isn't the case. It certainly has dramatically decreased the quality of the games you play on the ladder, it certainly has increased the variance in skill for teams this season, but it hasn't damaged a talented player's ability to rank up much, aside from making it even more grindy than it previously was.

The true core problem is not that DQ is so terrible (although it is) but its that the ladder ranks individuals individually without taking into account a single individual skill metric.

I don't think your opinion is unbiased. Mine certainly is biased, DQ is garbage. Plain and simple. Its a fact, sure, but its also my bias.

As for your ranking situation I just wanted to make sure you aren't using DQ as a crutch, as this would be a bad habit and prevent you from taking steps to improve as a player. As a diamond player myself I'm just here to help others, such is the duty of high level players who post to the boards.

Well with Lyte gone maybe something will change at least? Hell we might even get a tribunal that was promise 2 years ago from this guy.

There is no gaurantee you will face a premade under any set of conditions, so this is false.

This is inaccurate, MMR is the only important factor in ranked play, and MMR determines LP gains. If you premade party with players of a higher rank you acquire more LP for wins because you are matched against tougher opponents which means the avg mmr of your opponents is higher than usual, which results in the system awarding you more LP because you faced tougher competition. This was present with duos in solo q in previous seasons and duoing with a higher ranked player was a good way to acquire inflated MMR for fast climbs.

It does. They reduced experience demand on leveling to fasten the leveling process by approximately half so that now those with experience of 15 levels are already 30 level and can go into ranked. Just sayin'.

Yup. I went into ranked too after level 30 and getting used to a few champs back in s2. But i legit needed half a year until i knew every champ, item, summoner etc etc.

maybe they changed it in a patch that i didn't read but early in the year I know it was said that premades get less harsher penalties, and bigger rewards in victories. Perhaps they meant IP, but even if it was just mere IP that's bullshit, and only encourages people to use dynamic to try to kill the solo experience.

As for the being in division 1 of your elo near guaranteeing you face premades, this i can confirm through the round table video, they do it to shorten que timers.

Being part of a premade group, kill/death ratios, and other statistics do not affect your LP gain.

the "roll a dice" thing has always existed, its just that this season you can actively eliminate it by inviting teammates to ranked. Not that it makes the game easier (it certainly kept me from climbing) but at least you have the option now.

No, not in the same way. Winning and losing in DQ is ENTIRELY based on matchmaking. Either you get matched with the boosted animals(s) and lose, or against them and win, and vice versa with the skilled premades. There is virtually no agency to be found for solo players in the game anymore. In previous seasons, matchmaking was a dice roll, but winning and losing was much more dependent on your individual performance. You played well, you climbed. Even if you got trolled out of a few games here and there, if you played above the elo you were current at, you would see gains. Not the case in s6

So true. Just compare your winrates playing on let's say saturday around 6pm or later. And then play during the week early at 8-10 am. Then you see the influence of premades, boosted animals and what it is like to mostly play solo.

I honestly don't notice that. I've played at pretty much all hours and it's not noticeably different in terms of my win rate.

Dynamic is not competitive, you can't debate that.

You can't have a individual rank when solos go with/vs premades.

Solo gameplay and premade gameplay are different but the elo is the same, so stupid.

Ranked is not the game, it is simply a element that is optional for the game. That element has been ruined.

What is it that ruined ranked integrity for you this season. I have read other comments where you said DQ wasn't the problem so what is it? What element was missing from this season.

Also they are supposed to be changing the ranked system next season.

It took the two ladders which measured either individual performance or team performance and meshed them without actually designing it well. Due to the lax restrictions it has ruined any type of good matchmaking that could have existed.

Okay, but that is Dynamic Queue. The guy who created the post said it wasn't Dynamic Queue that made this season suck for him, or it makes the author makes it seem that way.

They had an idea for next season where you pick from the solo or dynamic ladder, and you get into different divisions depending on which you pick. While the queue/matchmaking is joined up until plat/diamond, diamond and up can only play solo.

I've been avoiding playing ranked because I fear losing (2-0 at the moment) as I thought your ranking mattered. Sounds like it doesn't because the system is screwed, so maybe you will see me on ranked more often now haha

Although I hear that the cancer from other players is reason enough not to play ranked

Actually plenty of Dynamic que threads get downvoted, it's all about tone in how you present yourself.
