Dear Plats who got demoted to silver

PhantomGG··151 votes·14,129 views

I don't wanna play with you, you don't wanna play with me, I want to get back to gold, you want to get back to plat, let's make this a less painful process, stop flaming the shit out of my bot lane if they lose, it demotivates them into no longer wanting to play, please stop begging for twenty four seven camps for you play "a sick as fuck tryndemere or camille, riven etc etc", and if i decide to camp another lane that's not yours, please stop running it down mid saying "that's what shit jungler gets for trolling me"

I am not trolling you for i didn't decide to camp for you, I simply see a more viable strategy by getting either bot ahead or placing vision into the enemy jungle. We all want to climb, I get it, your pissed about being demoted to silver, I am to. So let's just shut up, play and climb. Your toxicity doesn't make the process any easier.

True to a point. But it is 20 to 30 minutes lost from our lives, waiting for their defeatist attitudes and poor spirit to impel the TEAM's inevitable doom, and get the rest of us out of the shared heck with these nattering nabobs of negativity.

Toxic Plat players underestimate all silver players. There is a huge skill gap between Silver and Plat but snotty plat players treat both their enemies and allies like they have the memory of an Alzheimer patient, the reaction time of a Sloth, the map awareness of a pre-op coronary transplant, the micro of a stroke victim and the game knowledge of one of the uncontacted tribes of the Amazon.

Thus they make overconfident mistakes convinced their enemies won't recognize and exploit them, then assume that every single thing their allies do is horrible and wrong regardless of context or outcome.

Venging Angel1 votes

Silver players can be just as bad with bronzes. And I've seen a diamond player underestimate silvers and bronzes in normals.

Some players just think that the current colour of their rank allows them to treat lower tiers as garbage. Consequently, they underestimate how much the other side can do. The lessons:

  1. Never treat the opponent lightly.
  2. Realize that the days of a "solo carry" winning a game are for the most part past. Often you may need at least another person (or two) on your team - other than you - to have enough knowledge and wherewithal to actually get the team a win.

If a plat got demoted to silver, they were likely a plat 5 with low gold mmr. Half the reason for that is their toxicity.

Short story is that they're not raging because they got stuck with people worse than them, they're raging because they got put with people equal to / better than them, but for some reason they think they're better.

Most likely boosted to plat V

Things like humility and "learning when to shut up and holding your words" are rare to the league community. I think that's the reason why those toxic plats belong to silver after their provisionals.

Venging Angel1 votes

Well, with the demographic skewing towards a younger group, you will find the above to be consistently true.

You know those players that accidentally died once or twice that got told how terrible they are and trash silver etc. that continued to be trash? I'll let you in on a little secret...they did it intentionally. So yes, it does make it harder. When you do that, the player will often intentionally make it true, and you feel validated and get a loss, they report you, laugh, and go recover the MMR in their next game.

TL;DR Don't piss silvers off, they don't generally care as much about their rating as you and will take pleasure in gutting your MMR...boy.

than you have other forms of toxicity like feeding on purpose, going afk, letting teamates die on purpose and making it look like a accident, all of these things make climbing quite harder. It's why people call gold the "salvation elo" it's where people aren't totally retarded and where toxicity is a rarity, if your an actually legit good player you can climb from gold to plat in a matter of a week, just from how none toxic the environment is.

SHANK LUX MAINS1 votes

Also 1 loss doesn't gut mmr enough and silver is basically vs bots so not that hard to climb losing the occasional game bc you flamed

Have you not seen the stats that Riot frequently posts in the loading screen?

Jokes aside, being toxic DOES make climbing harder. Even if as the other poster below claimed people intentionally continue to do poorly when flamed is not true, people have a natural tendency to live up to their reputation - which means if you tell someone they're bad, they'll end up doing worse than they otherwise would have (even if not intentionally). ESPECIALLY in a game like league, where after a misplay or when you're behind you need to play a LOT more passive and just catch up with time, because most people will also have a desire to prove you wrong or make up for their mistake and take an unnecessary risk and fall farther behind.

SHANK LUX MAINS1 votes

Stats are fake lol. Rank 1 EUW, toxic, most of high elo, toxic, a lot of pro player, toxic. If you're good you can flame all game and still win as long as no one goes afk. I've climbed being super toxic and I've climbed exact same elo /mute all and disabled all chat and it was no different either time.

ValyrianBlade2 votes

If you were half as good as you claimed to be, you wouldn't get placed in silver 3, nor would you still be stuck there 12 games after placements.

Hell, my first ever season of ranked I got placed silver 1, and I'm not delusional enough to think I'm diamond quality.

(and before you claim this is a smurf, I'll repeat - you still got placed in silver 3 on this account).

PlzDontBanMy10th1 votes

I just got my 10th account banned for being toxic lol. But I only flame if my jungler comes in my lane to lose it. Then I hardcore flame them. That is the only reason I flame. I don t flame others for feeding.

Venging Angel1 votes

It doesn't make climbing easier either. Toxic players are often their own worst enemies.

Venging Angel1 votes

To paraphrase DOPA (and a few others): if you are at a certain tier, it is because that is the tier you deserve to be at.

Anastaecia10 votes

Doesn't matter the ELO. Bot has been the place to be for months and it still is. If the enemy team knows this and keeps roaming down and your team isn't....it's the rest of your team's fault for not helping in this bot lane meta.

Anastaecia4 votes

Really? Doesn't seem that way to me. I play supp, so I am right down there. I haven't seen this level of bot lane bombardment since I started. I'm sure the graph ebbs and flows (just like these WR graphs), but it sure feels like a high peak right now.

Than you simply had bad teamates to be honest, look at it through a logical perspective. Unless we are in the rare times where Fiora, riven, or some carry top laner are hard core meta, and it's picked on your team, you virtually have so much mathmaticla gain if you camp bot lane. In camping bot lane even since season 3 and 4 you got the following

-2 laners ahead -1 a tower -A dragon -the ability to rotate those two bot laners to mid and start snow balling

if i camp top lane i get

-A split pusher -whom may..or may not feed when i leave his lane.

as a top laner i resent this XD but i understand XD we jsut got to give top lane more objectives thats all (joking) [sg-syndra]

Of my 10 placement games, I only won 4 of them.

In 1 win, our jungle was doing a great job of ganking and carrying. Our mid was doing pretty good too. In the 2nd win, it was the most balanced game I played during all 10. We ended up winning after a team fight, baron, and a good push. No single lane out shined the rest. Jung and mid at the most kill participation, and ganks were almost exclusively in mid and top. In the 3rd win, our mid hard carried the game. In the 4th win, our top was an unstoppable force wherever he went. Our jungle frequently ganked lanes. Our ADC did fine, but wasn't the main spotlight imho. Of those 4 wins, i got 3x S-, and an A- playing passive healer and mage support.

Of my 6 losses, we got absolutely stomped in 2 of them. Our mid was the only decent one in 2 of them with everyone else getting stomped. In 2, we were doing good, but then people got toxic, upset, and started throwing. Of those 6 losses, 5 of them were extremely toxic to the point where people started arguing more than playing, and in several cases throwing the game, regardless of whether we were winning or losing at the point of the argument taking place. Those losses were between B and C grades, playing passive healer and tanks.

I actually had 1 game where the jungle cleared bot farm mid/late game once, and our ADC got upset. Our ADC had the most cs when compared to anyone else in the game, and still claimed they needed it more than him. They both went for red, and our jungle got it, so our adc got upset, said they were inting, and ran down top. Ran past 2 waves and suicided to their top laner, then pretended like it wasn't intentional, saying they got caught.

I've played with people who had plat, gold and silver borders, and it seems that those I played with placed between Bronze I and Silver I. I'm not interested in looking up 80-90 different people to see what ranks they were in previous seasons, but I highly doubt it's just the plat players raging. I literally only had 1 game out of those 10 placements that were equal in skill, had no toxic chat, and had a friendly cross team convo going in all chat.

Venging Angel1 votes

Last season, on my placements on another account, I had seven straight games filled with the following elements: trolls (3 of them), afks (3 of them), ragers (3 of them), or someone who had just qualified for ranked (and probably was playing ranked before they should have - 3 of them). One just has to hope that the law of averages works well enough after placements to cancel out the nonsense one tends to face when getting placed.

A plat player that tells a lower rank player that he's bad is like a blind that tells to a deaf that he's blind.

If a player achieved a gold or plat tier last season, then dare I say, they have a border which is coloured gold or plat - and can call themselves such. However, the rest of us can usually identify the fake platinum wrappers and fool's golds.

Well, literally all my bot lanes this season have sucked ass.

Like 3/4ths of my games that I've lost was because of a feeding bot lane. Same with my friends.

I don't even play ADC, how can I make bot lose???

Iffy Jarl2 votes

so 75 percent of the time its your bot lane that feeds as opposed to the enemy as opposed to 50/50 and you are the only constant in this equation therefore it's you

I just do not for the life of me understand how toxic int'ers can maintain an elo above bronze.

Dhollian3 votes

Gold is actually my favorite elo to be in. Everyone knows they aren't the best but they know they aren't bad either. They are humble in victory and graceful in defeat and I rarely find anyone toxic there. I'm speakin about gold 3 to gold 1.

Theres no way a plat demoted to silver because of placements. i went fuckin 4-6 in placement and went from p1 to p3. no fucking way someone who wasnt boosted to plat 5 0 lp then inted games until they had gold 3 mmr could get placed into silver lol.

Azadethe4 votes

Technically it's possible. If it's Plat V and they have lost like 8 games on the demotion buffer and have an actual MMR of Gold III, and then lose some placements.

There's also them preseason games which were totally troll, that dropped many a plat account to Gold Outright, because everyone was raging, surrendering, etc.
