Is Veigar the only scary lategame mage?

And maybe Annie. This is really sad. Mages have fallen so far.

And do not say Cassiopeia, I main her and she ain't that scary unless you let her be. ADCs outscale her lategame and she still gets blown up before she does anything. No support, no perma shields, no right clicking burst DPS.

This is one of the reasons League irks me so much, this everything revolves around ADC meta.

Cassiopeia was supposed to be, but I'm pretty sure she's just in a weak spot atm.

Ryze can be in the correct hands, with his map pressure, his being deceptively tanky, and good mix of both burst and sustained damage, I would call him one of the best, although his spell combos to do this properly are not easy to figure out by any means.

Anivia gets a fuckload of damage out of nowhere once late game hits, and just stalls to get there beforehand. Plus, with her egg, it's just that much harder to kill her, since you've got to do it twice.

Azir was designed to be a scary lategame mage in the correct hands, but his primary damage comes from his soldiers, who attack with Azir's own basic attacks, so I'm not 100% sure if he counts.

Karthus's late game is fucking horrifying when played correctly; his MR shred, short CD Qs, and E when he has a lot of mana deal a fuckload, and he can still hit like a truck while dead, after which he will likely press R and kill a few people on the enemy team. But his mana costs are so high early to mid game that you don't see him much.

I'm positive that there's more than this too, it's just these are 5 deadliest late game when played well.

Compare them to Twitch Vayne KogMaw Yasuo at full build

I am more terrified of the AD scaling champions

I still get two shot by Zoe late game when playing anything squishy. That's even after her "nerf"

idk about you but i get one shot

Vladimir. Late game, Haemoplague and E is enough to oneshot an ADC.

Why play a mage when you can play an ad assassin mid?

Instalock zed mid with no prior knowledge of zed mechanics and make it full ad team. All you have to do is roam for kills and let the rest of your team worry about objectives, as long as you get the almighty kda no one can blame you for throwing the game.

^ And this is why nobody takes the boards seriously.

Because it wasn't a serious comment?

Although from the downvotes maybe I should have made that more clear.

It's not really possible to read tone off of text, simply including a /s or something to the same effect at the end of your post should do.

I think maybe you just didn't fully read my comment before you posted.

Perhaps that is why nobody takes the boards seriously... /s

There are a lot of people on the boards who would type the same thing and actually mean it, so you can never be sure.

So you weren't sure, but choose to make a judgemental comment anyway? >:|

I just find it ironic that your statement was "this is why nobody takes the boards seriously". [zombie-brand-clap]

Syndra and Velkoz can be pretty scary in the lategame, since Syndra can instagib most squishies once she's built up, and Velkoz can melt entire teams in one combo.

No?

Mages DOMINATE late game. A large number of them that I play regularly are large impact late game mages:

Viktor Lux Ziggs for instance... one ability, and they can massively chunk the whole ennemy team

Kassadin people forget about this guy his late is very good but with all the relic shields and all but now that it's gone he's gonna be one of my picks for ranked.

if you watch YT masters/challengers kassadin vs talon/zed/yasuo he outscales them pretty hard.

yes he is! :D
