@Riot/Meddler/Any other Rioter, It's time to continue the favor and Rework the [Divers] class

It's not fair to Update most classes in the game [Marksmen, Tanks, Mages, Assassins] then leave the Divers behind as a punishment for your own mistakes.

You're afraid to break something while trying to fix what's outdated? sure, it might happen, nothing goes 100% as planned, specially when some of the previous reworks failed, but you ended up fixing/adjusting/reverting what didn't go right. But the idea of dropping the entire class rework specially when there are at least 3 outdated champions in the Divers class is just ridiculous.

For those who don't know how many Divers there are in the game, here's the full list:-

Camille Diana Elise Hecarim Irelia JarvanIV Kayn Kled LeeSin Olaf PantheonRekSai Renekton Skarner Vi Warwick MonkeyKing XinZhao [[Not sure about Rengar because since the last revert hey became an assassin again, mentioned in the patcher as well]

As you can see, some of those Divers are new, some got reworked, while some are super outdated and can hardly compete in the meta.

Since you chose 3-5 champions in your previous Class reworks, Diana Pantheon MonkeyKing should be a top priority. Not only you'd give their mains a better way/kit to compete in this meta with all the new effects and CC and Runes, but you'd give the enemies some sort of counterplay and even clearer weaknesses to play around [they already have weaknesses, but with certain items item 3147 MonkeyKing item 3095 people forget about them]

implying any of these class updates were good tho lul

If anything, they were good at pointing out that some champions need way more help then a small rework can provide.

This. The class updates were fundamentally flawed in that they tried to do Preseason-level work as a side project, with extremely limited time and resources. Many of the reworks were so unsuccessful they had to be flat-out reverted (and these have just been the reworks the developers have admitted to bungling, there are many more still out there), and the systemic changes themselves have often been so shallow and poorly thought through that they've made the situation worse, not better. The Marksman Update did this by cheapening the class's itemization and inflating both their crit chance and AD, the Mage Update did this by focusing the class way too hard around mana, and the Assassin Update, which aimed to address stealth, only made stealth more frustrating to deal with.

With that said, I still think entire classes need an update, including the Diver subclass, it's just that I think any further updates would need to be done properly. Champions who receive reworks should get the full treatment, not some half-assed job that will get reverted a year down the line, and changes to systems and itemization should aim for the long-term, not just stop at surface-level work.

OlafSkarner are juggernauts, not divers.

Because the previous class updates were so successful weren't they? They totally didn't ruin half the champions involved just because Riot wanted to give them stupid gimmicks or minigames for the sake of change. And the items they introduced really didn't make gameplay worse at all...I mean items like Duskblade are such a great addition to the game and totally didn't need the four reworks it had because every warning we gave to Riot happened and they're still too fucking proud to accept they were wrong and it was a mistake.

Nah, go ahead and try the class updates again, what's the worst that could happen? It's not like we have 5 failed attempts to look back on to guess what's gonna happen next. Because as we know, Riot learns from failure pretty quickly.

No.

I'm against the class updates. They've all been terrible.

If Riot reworks and messes up Vi, then it's done. This game is over.

Divers have so many champions who'd need it desperately. It completely makes sence to overhaul them at once. But former class reworks make me not want to have a diver class update.

Edit: I think class updated come mainly from a gameplay aspect - champions from one class lack the class's design philosophy or suffer from individual issues while a gameplay oriented class update could solve those issues together. Riot however focuses too much to deliver individual champion's thematic aspects which ends up not improving the issues due to the lack of ressources. So we end up with a few champions getting minor thematic changes while issues simply persist.

Class updates: Good in theory, very bad in execution.

Riot isn't saying they won't rework or update some of these champs that need it. They will, just not as a class-wide update. Which I'm perfectly okay with and I believe most of the community demanded after some of the lackluster class updates Riot has put out. Most people posting on the topic would rather see them focus on individual projects so that the changes are given proper consideration and employees feel less pressure to turn out ANYTHING just to meet a deadline. Quality over quantity... that's the right way to do it.
