Im really happy with the current state of the game.

The last two years have had me a bit tilted because it seemed like every month there was a champion that could 1 v 5 carry a game every time due to balance issues. Yasuo was a long running carry god, zed had his moment too, Jhin, The lethality meta is another example. But now, as the dust settles after the mid season patch, I don't see this problem anymore.

THe last two months or so have been really well balanced, I never feel hopeless in champ select or feel like I don't have enough bans to get rid of the fotms. Every game I feel like is a skill/kit matchup, and it's really nice. Rakan and Xayah are strong because they just got released, but they aren't ridiculous like Illiaoi was on release. Yasuo is still strong, but he's not one shotting people with 2 items anymore. I don't feel like adc's are getting shitstomped anymore. Assassins arent one shotting people without counterplay, and Mages aren't bursting first blood under tower at level 2 (leblanc -.-)

Tl:dr

I like where the games at right now in terms of balance. No one seems too strong, or too weak. It really feels all skill matchup.

Disclaimer: I literally just hit gold yesterday, so these are the views of a silver 1 player and should not be taken offensively.

I'd feel better if junglers lost some power and given back to the laners.

I'd like to hear more. What junglers specifically? What power do you want them to lose? (I am a jungle main) A ward or two practically shut us down in terms of pressure. I find that people with jungle problems, are usually skimping on the wards, and getting rightfullly punished for it.

Mostly gank junglers having almost completely no punishment in terms of falling behind when a gank fails, being able to just take a camp, then come again.

I'd like the time windows which they can attempt to fuck over my lane to be more spread out, instead of them being able to bang their heads against my lane until they succeed over and over again.

The problem I see with this, is how do you consider a gank "failed?" if the enemy jungler dies, then thats a fail. Otherwise, if he forces you out of lane, gets a kill, or burns one of your summoners, thats a successful gank 100% of the time.

Failed gank as in: Not changing the dynamic relevance of who has lane superiority.

So no forcing out, no kill and burning a summoner only being relevant if their laner can actually punish it soon.

Right now burning a summoner only means "nice, i'll wait 20 seconds, try again, then go get scrattle, then try again, maybe get their froggie, try again, etc"

That's a bit too much "try again" being available for that time frame without the jungler being punished in termps of exp.

The ward changes also gave a lot of power to the junglers.

The bottom line here is a pink ward, and a bit of map awareness/jungle mentality completely makes the enemy jungle irrelevant until he's strong enough to dive you under tower, or in your group. You can counter 95% of junglers with 75g for a pink ward. and you can counter 100% of junglers with positioning. Keep the waves near your tower if you're worried about the jungler, Keep the side of the river pink'ed where he's last seen/going to be, and most importantly, don't get greedy for a kill and flash forward.

One place I think the jungler could lose some power to help out the laners, is dragon/baron/babybaron. If you make these areas visible 100% of the time, it removes the sneaky dragons and barons that put the ENTIRE enemy team ahead.

Lee sin and Ivern should be crushed in power. One is the LoL poster child though so he wont be touched.

Better Jungler1 votes

Ivern? I havent ever seen an ivern cause a problem in a game of mine:/ He's like a walking support, he just shields people then runs away xD

Mordepool1 votes

Lee nerf on PBE love tap but still

HaIlMonitor1 votes

That doesnt really fix anything lol. His early game damage is the problem lol.

Mordepool1 votes

I've never had a problem with his damage but I usually play more durable champions

Better Jungler1 votes

Im going to agree, I don't see a problem with lee's damage in general. As a lee sin player, I may be biased. But as a mid laner (lux, ahri) If he lands a q on me, I can USUALLY flash him under turret for a free kill. Now of course, if you let him aa you to death he's a pain in the ass, or if he builds full ad, but you can say the same about Jarvan. As a tank his damage is noticable from his passive, but as a full damage build, the dudes damage is some of the hardest hitting ad in the game at early levels.

If they build damage, and you don't built armor, you're the problem. If they build tank, and still do shit tons of damage, they're the problem.

And yet high elo jg mains have been saying that the jg is crap for the last 3 patches.... I'm gonna trust them over you

Crap compared to the power they have got used to have for ages now.

Crocodile tears is not something I care about.

"crocodile tears" when jungle mains were playing adc, top, and support in ranked over jg...yeah....sure kid

Better Jungler1 votes

Just an opinion of mine. You don't have to "trust" anyone, make your own opinions lol

What? You mean lee sin right?

I dont feel like jungle is that strong at all unless you are a gank bot, but that is because dragons and stuff aren't as important. LeeSin Graves Khazix Elise MasterYi Those champs in that order are the most played. 4 of the 5 are gank champs and one is a farm then kill everyone champ. That shows the problem with jungle even if laners dont see it.

Lee Sin being knocked out might make things much more interesting alone, but Graves also falls in the "lose almost no hp, then gank" category.

Kha'Zix and Elise I'm fairly ok with to be honest.

Better Jungler1 votes

I feel like lee sin is fine. I play him alot, so I may be biased. But he relies heavily on being out of position, and thats dangerous. Minion waves block his q, and if he's good enough to smite q, you're probably going to die whether it hits or not. His ward hops aren't easy to pull off fluidly, and his ult is a great tool to fuck over your own team, or change the tide of the game. I think his skill cap makes him balanced.

HaIlMonitor1 votes

He relies heavily on you fighting in lane and executing people.... Oh wait, that is what every lane is. lol

Also never think skill cap makes something balanced or not. Not everyone can do perfect auto cancles as riven, but just because only riven mains can doesn't mean it isn't a problem. They cant really nerf him properly because he has so much utility (which people act like is skill).

Lol you just hit gold yesterday meaning youre on a winning streak

Why dont you revisit this thread in a week after your next losing streak, and youll have 10 different things to complain about again

Better Jungler2 votes

Unlike you, I'm usually a pretty positive person. of the last 50 games I've won 40 or so. One hell of a "Lucky" winning streak eh? Especially with different champions, and a 2.00 KDA minimum in EVERY game.

But stay negative, I'm sure that'll make your life better.

fuffychan1 votes

You are so completely biased and dont even know it

If youve won so many games recently OBVIOUSLY youre going to think the "state of the game" is in good shape

Better Jungler1 votes

It's not biased to say I like where the games at. Who do you think is a real problem right now? Who is the champ that you see in the loading screen and go.. "ff at 20"

I don't have one of those anymore. Yasuo was mine for the longest time, and he's manageable now.

I've won so many games in a row because I'm not struggling against any broken/unbalanced flavor of the months.

Better Jungler2 votes

Oh... After looking at your boards history I can see this is just how you are.. Negative.

Looks like every suggestion someone makes on boards, or statement, or anything you find a way to make it negative.

Hope things improve for you, I wont be feeding into this anymore.
