Be consistent. Try to limit yourself to your 3 very best champions in each row, and don't stray from them if you can avoid it.
Remember to buy wards, upgrade your tinket, and look at the minimap constantly. Wards don't do any good if you don't notice them being walked on.
When your jungler goes into the enemy jungler, follow him if you're nearby, or at least be ready to follow your opposing laner if he responds. If he goes alone, his play has a higher chance of failing. He's likely trying to get wards down, which will save you later on, or to counter jungle, which will get you guys kills and a win easier.
Take Teleport instead of Ignite when you go top.
Always make sure your team has a tank, even if you have to do something wonky like Cho/Galio mid. A front line is important.
Learn to support. Be willing to sacrifice your main role so your team can get their own role.
Don't rage, play for fun, play to improve, and, most of all, ENJOY

Unless you're playing Cho'Gath. Ignite is almost a must.
Believe it or not, the silver community is more (verbally) toxic. Less feeders and gameplay trolls, but more verbal abuse. And there is a significant difference in skill. Some things that you could get away with in Bronze, you might not be able to get away with in Silver.
I left silver not to long ago..currently gold 1 almost plat! What helped me get out of silver is to get my team to always group up first...seriously getting your team to group faster than their will win you alot of games. Take objectives and dont be afraid to take a few risks with baron and dragon!(high-risk high-reward). Also i find that teamfighting comps/wombo combo will win you many games. If you're gonna jungle i suggest fiddlesticks since you can use the lack of vision and their poor coordination to really win games with your ult! Good luck! :)
I mean I have never been in bronze, but i have played with bronze. Most games in silver are pretty silent for me. No one really talks in chat. Pinging, warding, and just setting up plays is what is best. Passed silver 5 the skills increase slightly but hardly. You will start seeing a lot of the same picks and bans as well. As jungle. Dragon and warding are your friends. If you do something retarded people would probably yell at you in the end.
thanks for all the tips:) good stuff ill start focusing on more often:)
The biggest difference in silver is mastery. In silver, its common to go up against someone who autolocked kayle to counter Singed with only 1 or 2 Kayle games to their name. I can personally tell you how badly that goes. Furthermore, you need to start feeling the flow of the game. If eneny team has malph-Yas-Wukong, lock in an ap top to trap Malphite into building mr, then have your entire team focus on shutting down Yas and get a support who can save you(janna, Morg, Alistar if you want to deny them that pick since it makes their wombo stronger). If the catalyst for a team's win condition is behind, They lose/ are pressured to make desperate plays you can abuse. Gl
whp do u play as supp=?
supp is fun. and needed. good supp is its own reward.
People start warding and there are like a lot of smurfs and when I say a lot I MEAN A LOT. Most smurfs get to skip bronze and land in silver. Like 3 of my friends have smurfs and they're in silver
It's all about your attitude when it comes to getting out of silver/bronze. Always be supportive of the situation, never flame, never get upset at a bad play. Always encourage your teammates to try their best, give advice where it's needed (unless if they're behind, then they might get angry with you). Simply put, a better attitude and emotional state during a game will cause everyone to play better. While ignoring everyone is better than flaming, it is not better than encouraging.
Pings are your best friend, if you see the enemy jungle, ping it out so your team knows. If a lane is missing, ping it out. But whatever you do, don't spam. 1-2 is all that's needed to get the message out. Try your best to watch for when an enemy flashes or tp's and type it out in chat so everyone knows it. Abbreviate the name so it is simpler. Example, "K F" for Kalista Flash. Usually just the first initial is good enough for champion name, and F is always fine for flash. If there are two K champions, then Kal would be good also. Remember all champions have a 5 minute cooldown on Flash, except for some support players who could be 4.5 minutes.
When playing support, only work to protect your carry and bring them kills on a silver platter. Harrass the enemy bot lane whenever possible and safe. Ward up and clear wards in between waves. And know what to buy/run for runes and masteries to fit what's needed. Also recognize when a lane has been lost/won in champion select. Simply put, some duo lanes will dominate the other, and some are skill match ups. Use the knowledge to your advantage and play accordingly.
For Jungle, tell whatever lane your about to gank to let the enemy push in, and take scuttle while you wait. After you hit 6, swap to sweeping lens so you aren't wasting time sitting on a ward. Grab a sightstone if you can go full tank, scale well with HP, or are Lee Sin. Otherwise, try to hold a pink ward on you at all times for dragon/baron control as well as denying vision on the enemy jungler. Once you hit a power spike in the early game, place some pressure on bot lane to set up a dragon.
Most Important for junglers, the moment you kill from a gank, help the laner shove the wave but do not take the farm, maybe one or two is ok but otherwise you want your laner to stay as ahead as possible. By shoving the wave to tower, it will deny the enemy laner at least 1-2 waves of potential cs as well as reset the wave for when you laner returns from backing.
If a laner backs and isn't going to use TP to return, hold the lane for them at tower and freeze the wave. The minions are a stronger source of quick experience and gold to help put you ahead or on the same level as the enemy jungler, it also keeps your towers from taking too much damage so they live as long as possible. It's also a good way to pass time while you wait for camps to respawn.
I can give you more advice if you'd like, feel free to add me, my IGN is the same of Boards name.
Lots of good stuff here.
B5 -> G5 is about individual skill. Just keep playing and get more experience.
Don't focus too much on teamfighting and gank, they'll certainly help, but if you hit gold w/o strong personal skills to back it up, you'll get smashed.
My tip: Playing only 3 roles and have at least 2 champs each role, ideally different styles. i.e. as support, you should have 1 squishy (sona/raka/nid) and 1 tanky (thresh/leo/nault). If you don't get your preferred roles, dodge, mid/high silver knows what they're doing and it's hard playing what you're not proficient.
Know your epic monsters:
Dragon is easy and fast to take. As a jungler and support main (both you and I) know when it's a good call to take it. As a jungler you essentially hold the decision in taking dragon. If you think it's a good opportunity to take it, do it.
Don't be afraid if you're a fast clearing DPS jungler (ie
,
,
and others) who builds sustain and maybe some damage to solo that thing while your team pushes after winning a fight. Ping dragon and say "I'm going to solo drag". It'll usually do really well when often times after winning a fight, you may seem to have the choice of taking a turret or dragon, and you can accomplish both.
Baron is something not to mess with without FULL support of your team. It'll eat your team alive even then and the enemy can easily come in and take it and kill you if you're not careful, but, often times Baron is a game winner. I would strongly recommend choosing when to Baron very wisely, because a Baron is more risky than a dragon.
As a support, out of laning phase, it's your job to make sure that you can at least see the epic monsters. Once you get out of laning phase, ward Baron. I don't care if it's 15 minutes into the game (okay, that might be a bit unnecessarily that early), ward Baron. Some teams are capable of taking Baron really quickly really early (I've seen that thing go down in a few seconds).
As a support, If you don't have the wards to ward a monster pit, or anywhere for that matter, go back and refill your sightstone and ward.
Did you accidentally not have vision around a monster pit when the enemy took it? No problem, just wait a few minutes and ward there and your team will be able to see it respawn.
As a jungler, help the support out with epic monster vision. Take scuttlecrab early. After laning phase, the ADC usually takes it for the free gold, but if it's up take it, because it helps with the vision a lot.
Place a ward in the epic monster pits about 1:30 before they respawn. It'll help just in case you forget to ward it after they have respawned. You don't want to drop a ward into a pit full of
the raid boss feasting on dragon bones.
In conclusion, make sure to tell your team to upgrade trinkets. I've found that a lot of players forget to upgrade their trinkets just because they don't really think about it, and by saying something simple like "We should upgrade our trinkets" is enough to get a few people to spend the measly 250 gold. You don't have to upgrade them the instant you hit level 9 either (even though it's nice to have that much vision early). Usually upgrading ward trinkets is something that can be put off until mid game. Upgrading a sweeper as a support though, that should be done early because it's really cheap and it helps a ton with clearing wards AND it helps to find those sneaky stealth champions.
Unfornatly I disagree with the way to climb.... Yes a good attitude is nice to have and always welcomed, but it won't win you games... The best tool in lol is luck..... Lots and lots of serious luck...
Sadly I quit playing ranked after I went from silver 1 to bronze 4... I would win 5-6 in a row then lose promotion... Get 3-4 afker troll combos get demoted... Repeat...now this season I have had 8/26 games with afk players 6/28 with trolls... My alt account I easily stay gold 1.... Silver is just another bronze with huge amounts of rage quitters... I have seen multiple fb... Rage quitters
Gl at least you made it out

- Hope you don't get massive back to back afkers...
- Learn to spot the trolls.... This will save you losses
- Wards are your best friend... Map hacks and awareness.
- It's great to be positive and try to get your team to listen, but most won't... Till way later.
- Pick champs that's work well for you ( ie support I use Leo taric sona Jana braum voli and others depending on situation)
- Never build the same way every game... Tab is your key to building right.

That's why after my provisionals landed me in Silver 4, I left ranked for good. I got away with my border and sanity.
I was in silver for about half a season, then.... tiltled harder then you ever have seen. Fell to B5, then climbed to B1 and tilted again. lol, climing from B4. Silver has a lot more toxic players in it. Verbally toxic. If you die 3 times people will yell at you for feeding. Other then that, junglers are better. They will counter jungle a lot more. Laners are better, people arent quite as... uncaring. They will try to finish games a bit more then bronzplayers would.

How does counter jungling make jungling better for you? In some cases, it's one of the most toxic things that anyone can do to you.
toxic? counter jungling is just a strategy like proxy farming or roaming as mid. Its not toxic at all:) it works very very well, and basically can make it a 4 v 5.

Being toxic means ruining another player's experience. And that's just what counter jungling does. Well, to me atleast. And I don't think there's such a thing as counter counter jungling, and if there is, I definately don't know about it.
I may be wrong about this bc I played mid and top to get out of bronze and am still silver I up for gold promos for the second time.
For me the biggest difference was people I played against getting better and having to learn to play a little safer. In bronze I could focus on getting better at killing my opponent to climb, and in silver I had to get better at not dying to climb.
Bronze doesn't punish misplays as bad, they don't ward as much or control/contest objectives as well, and they misjudge damage. Through bronze and most of silver I could consistently tower dive for a kill at level 6 with my main, but playing high silver and gold players they realize the danger and back off so I don't get the kill. As a result I am not as consistently fed so I have to not die to keep from losing lane hard. I assume the same is true for jungle. Invades and counter jingling will happen more, enemy lanes will collapse when you invade more often, and people will judge duels better.
