the karma changes hurt my balls so bad

no longer can i take karma mid against a burst assassin because of her r+w changes. i have no means of cancelling out the massive burst mid lane.

no longer can i take karma top for the exact same reason. high burst melees will absolutely demolish me if i make a single mistake

no longer will i be able to fight against high aggression botlanes (leona, thresh, kalista, nami), as i dont have a decent a mount of sustain unless my adc and i both nuke the target before mantra w goes off.

riot is taking karma who was ABSOLUTELY FINE, not too strong, not too weak, and changing her from a jack of all trades into an exclusive defensive support and maybe a low tier jungler.

i mained karma with a 65% winrate last season at top and support, but now im positive she wont be able to do any lane except support now. she may be able to jungle, but honestly the r+w changes with her heal completely invalidated the change to allow her to use her w on monsters and minions. exactly how much does riot expect it to heal her when she can only realistically get one aa and one q out before the channel ends? that is a SEVERE nerf to everything except support karma. and even then, it's still a big nerf as 20% missing health right away and 20% missing health right at the end of the channel heals a lot more at all points in the game except for late game.

riot's balancing team is trash. sure nerf the champion with no clear defined role who isn't a real problem in any elo, but keep zed with his natural free farm passive, perfect synergy with armor pen items, and all around general BS. keep leblanc with her extremely short cooldown gapcloser w+r that has an undo button if she goes full retard. keep jinx with her unstoppable late game and insane turret destruction power with one item.

its like riot loves to shit on karma mains whenever they get the chance. pre-rework karma was fun, rework karma was kind of disappointing, but i grew to enjoy it just as much later on. but this change to karma is just a message from riot saying "we don't want karma anywhere except botlane as a mediocre squishy high mana cost defensive support"

who in their right mind is going to pick karma over nami, janna, morgana, leona, and thresh now? it was already a rare occurance to see karma support anyway.

tl;dr riot not so sneakily nerfed karma in every lane, thus kicking karma mains in their balls once again

we're mad because the changes were not necessary

karma was the epitome of balance in league of legends. any changes to her at all in any way are moot there was no reason to do this other than to shit in karma main's wheaties

I mean to be honest i am in favor to these changes. It solidifies her as a support type champion, giving her purpose, and a reason to be played. Before she was a jack-off-all-trades that didn't excel at anything and was decent at everything. Now she will be able to give strong CC and a heal or a incredibly powerful AoE shield depending on the situation. She can still be played mid and top, just as LuLu is played there. But no longer can only use R+Q in every situation, and now has to think about her usage.

I think you misunderstood the changes. To do any damage, she now has to RQ. Do the math for what she will be doing in a solo lane.

She already is a support-like utility mage - they are just trying to change her to a support.

she will not be able to survive mid or top with the slew of high mobility high burst ap mid assassins, and bruiser tops with cc/gapclosers.

top lane karma was a tough but rewarding challenge. mid lane karma was great for keeping assassins from snowballing early, and being a secondary support shield bot lane game for your team.

how do you expect karma to survive Fizz Katarina Akali Diana Darius Yasuo Talon Tryndamere burst without being forced to back and give up 10 cs and lane advantage now?

how do you expect karma to stack up against Thresh Kalista Leona Jinx Draven Nami in botlane without the extra damage or much bigger heal for her w? sure it's nice that her w now can heal whoever attacks her r+w target with her, but it's not as much as nami or soraka can heal in one or two spellcasts on a much shorter cooldown.

He tweeted out some more changes for tomorrow, but it still doesn't look promising. The heal is back, but the bonus damage from RW is still gone. Essentially they are taking away two of her damage moves for literally no good reason. Also, they are reverting the changes with W and monsters.

They are really just trying to make her a shield bot now. Taking away her early lane prowess and replacing her with a passive playstyle. Ridiculous. For no good reason at all. Karma needed no changes.

Source.

why doesn't riot do something about champions that are actually problems? like Thresh with his "oh my adc's a retard so let me toss my lantern and pull him 1k units away" or Leona with her "oh im incredibly tanky, have an aoe stun/slow, a root/gapcloser, a bundle of armor and MR that explodes, and a targeted auto attack stun" these two supports have been at the top of the meta since their respective releases, yet karma, who is good at all, master of none, who falls off HARD LATE GAME, is getting core pieces to her kit changed for the worse.

I wish I knew the answer as well. Can't say I'm too interested in playing the Karma that they are trying to change her into.

What I am praying for is that these changes simply don't go through. He tried this a couple of months ago with Katarina and they never went through. Pray for a miracle.
