Kick Smiteless "Junglers"

We've all had the occasional game where the jungler forgets Smite despite being told in chat. The timer slowly counts down to zero and we're basically in a game with no jungler. Especially in ranked, it forces someone on your team to dodge if it looks like your jungler is AFK without Smite.

The solution would be to automatically kick the jungler when the timer reaches zero and no one on the team has Smite. This is more fair because others shouldn't suffer dodge penalties for a jungler's inattention. You'd still be allowed to trade since there's no issue as long as someone has Smite.

Another way to reduce the chance of this happening in the first place is to automatically give the jungler Smite on the key he used in previous jungle games. In case of a trade or a change in preferences, he can still modify it but this would avoid accidental smiteless jungler games.

Sorry m8, just because its not meta doesn't make it punishable. And not having smite, while probably not intentional, isn't an offense.

Argue "you can jungle without smite" all you want but when the enemy team just walks up, smites your baron, and takes the game...You're gonna feel really dumb.

Only issue is that Riot would have to make Smite available from summoner level 1.

And I'm totally okay with that idea.

Some people play smiteless.

I wouldn't reccomens it, but kicking someone for having a different playatyle, regardless of its possible downsides, is dumb

I think the simple solution would at some point in champ select, perhaps after you lock in your champ as the jungle roll, a forced dialog box pops up saying "Hey! I see you may have forgotten to take smite. We at riot see smite taken in 99% of games, but this is just a reminder in case you accidentally forgot."

That way the person who forgot and ignoring chat or even the person about to run afk for a quick bathroom run can see it. In the same breath people are not forced to take it if they don't want it for whatever reason.

There's no need to fight over whether a jungler should or shouldn't have to take smite. I personally think you're stupid if you don't, but there's a simple fix:

Require everybody to select their summoners fresh each game, immediately after picking your champion. You can't lock in your champ until you select your summoners. Done.

I've forgotten to take smite a couple of times, and felt like an idiot. Or, I've accidentally kept smite on a laner simply because I jungle primarily. Often people will end up taking the wrong summoner simply because they're running on autopilot and it doesn't occur to them that they want heal now since they're going to be adc, not the teleport that they had from last game. It's a good way to force people to be mindful of the summoners they are selecting, and will drastically reduce, if not eliminated, people taking (or not taking) smite for their junglers or laners.

If you get the position of jungler in the dynamic queue, the game should force smite into your spells list. The new items require you to have Smite. Jungling without smite is a fools errand, end of story.

Double laning is also a fools errand, as you've just let the enemy jungler have 2 of each buffs unless your team is willing to put in the extra man power to secure/ward them. Most solo Q players are lazy and dislike change, so it will be hard to find players willing to use strategy(if you can find any at all)

tl;dr so basically just auto stick smite if you get the jungler role in dynamic queue. Logically 0 reason to not bring smite in the jungle. You can't even build the items without it. (Thanks S3 Blue Ezreal, and S3 Elder Lizard, and the list could go on)

I would be for not something like that.

The point is that there can be a case, in future, where a jungler will not be mandatory and the jungle camps are cleared occasionally.

Now, it' s not something you would see at the present in any case and i agree, but i don' t see why the system should cut out the option indiscriminately. Maybe one day we will have a Nunu that plays as secondary support but that dives into the jungle to get buffs and camps leaving the lane partner occasionally alone, Bard style.

Or probably not. But i don' t see why it should be blocked by that. This is not the system' s fault, but the player's.

This would screw people who trade roles in champ select.

And when the troll you traded with turns off smite at the last second it kicks you because you were the jungler.
