There's no way around it: Nasus feels like total shit right now.

I'm not really sure why either. The tank changes shouldn't have impacted him much, but for whatever reason his winrate has plummeted. His winrate is currently at 46.5% and that is accompanied by a playrate of 3.1% (according to op.gg). I am personally struggling with him as well and this is a champion I have been able to get a 60-65% winrate in low diamond with relative ease over the past 3 years and I can't even maintain a 50% winrate with him in mid plat.

His lane phase is shit, that's a given. But his late game isn't even good and his mid game spike seems to have declined as well. I can't put my finger on it but for whatever reason, Nasus is total garbage right now and I'm not even sure how to fix it. It doesn't help that everything is so early game focused right now. Tank items losing HP does hurt too. But this shouldn't lead to such a decrease in winrate. He was sitting at a 53% winrate in the beginning of the season.

Does anyone else have the same experience? I'm not just crazy, stats back up my claims. But I'm wondering if Nasus plyers feel the same because I certainly think he sucks right now unless you max E and win by 15 minutes - and that's a terrible style of play that sucks for both Nasus and his opponent; as if he needed even less interaction.

I've been doing fine. He's obviously in a bad spot, but so few people know how to lane against him. I encounter more problems with my teammates insisting on fighting 4v5s than problems with enemies being a threat to me.

Take a seat and let me tell you a story, son. I'm a level 7 mastery Nasus player and I've been playing him since the beginning of season 4. And like you said, he is in a shitty spot right now. The main reason being that when the juggernaut update happened, he got left in the dust and ever since then he's had a small buff to his Q range and his ult was reworked (and it was a shitty rework in my opinion). You're just going to have to get used to the fact that as long as fervor is broken, you won't be able to play him top lane because you'll get your asshole turned inside out by Riven/Darius/Fiora/Renekton/Yasuo/Kled/Irelia/Yorick and even Tryndamere now too. But don't worry, I'm sure he'll get a class update to bring him up to the same level as the other juggernauts eventually, you know, probably in like season 11 or something.

Nasus main here. level 7 mastery, 800k points. Fell that he is lacking in his late game a lot. Would suggest that they put additional focus on his stacks. Hell, even take some power off of early game, but let his w and e scale with his stacks. Or even better, add flat ms on him per certain amount of stacks.

He was okay earlier on in the season. But this is the worst he's felt to me since season 2 when he was considered a troll pick.

I have a feeling it's in part due to a few things:

  • Crit Damage going up, Crit Item prices down
  • More damage-focused champions in lanes/jg
  • Less HP on crucial items

He's just poopy late game even with 600 stacks, because lately more and more, teams are just going for "blow everything up" champion comps due to how the meta/itemization is shifting. It takes longer for Nasus to reach a viable, crucial powerspike where he can do the same damage as his opponent(s), whilst at the same time having to still build "tanky/bruiser" items to survive -- but unfortunately now that spike comes way too late with his Q stacks and he tends to get CC'd and blown up before he can do enough DPS.

Everyone else in the meantime, is throwing tons of CC, burst damage, and DPS/DoT at him (especially if he's the only frontline) and its "goodnight doge".

I think there are two problems with most Nasus Players. They take Storm Raiders and a TF in their games.

Storm Raiders is terrible if the enemy team has any front line. Mid-Late game you will never see it proc b/c there is no way you can proc it on the enemy tank and most teams are wise enough to keep their squishies out of Nasus's melee range. It's also worthless early as we do not want to trade and any hard CC outside of a slow negates the mastery entirely. I think the reason so many people look at it with rose colored glasses is b/c of the extra 5% CDR. In reality, outside of the mana regen, most of the cunning tree is bad for Nasus. Personally I feel like Warlords is probably the best option. Many of the points in Ferocity directly benefit Nasus. Life steal, extra damage in extended trades, Armor Pen. Grasp is probably the strongest late game option but we see no benefit from it early.

TF is horribly expensive and made worse by the fact that we get denied early CS by competent top laners. If you rush it early it makes you super squish and will actually make you weaker overall. IBG covers everything Nasus needs in 1 item. Sheen proc, mana, armor and CDR. Not to mention IBG is 1000 gold cheaper and makes you a much better team fighter.

Good?

He kind of needs to be camped by the jungler, which takes pressure off of his bot lane and has the ability to build up his Q to where he can spiral out of control and 2 shot towers. A squishy getting splatted by nasus Q is one of the least fun things in the game.

IMO riot should rework him such that there's a limit to his Q stacks or he loses a percentage of them on death. With that power out of his kit, they could then move into fixing some of his deficiencies.

i think all juggs except darius took a serious dip in winrate with the tank update.

theyre all doing kindof poorly right now.

Nasus will never be allowed to be genuinely good late game while his early game is so incredibly safe.

I am with Lazarus on this one.

HateDaddy, he does feel bad, but you are building TF every game. Stop doing that. I looked at your op.gg. and you itemization is not adjusting to the tank update. RO is a BAD item. Stop building it. It provides crap stats and DMP is now WAY stronger on him. I barely get RO unless there are two champions building crit.

Also as soon as I made the switch from TF to IBG I started winning more often because it is a cost factor in his itemization.

TF = 3733 gold. Typically you also have to build FH = 2700 gold. Thats 6433 gold not including that you will buy boots and likely need SV.

IBG = 2700 gold and I can build right into other items. It provides me the best components of FH and TF at a fraction of the cost. By the time you build the item you also will be spiking in the mid game and you can build right into SV and your boots.

Think about it. 3733 gold gets you IBG tier one boots and kindle gem. Instead you are building and offensive item when you still will eventually need mana items and defensive stats, pushing your power spike back.

I ain't diamond (just plat iv), but I do think that you are not accounting for cost while building for Nasus. He spikes in the mid game and you need your items at that point, you can't wait to complete triforce and FH and SV to start killing people.

I do think Nasus feels like poop though, but I think you need to adjust your itemization.
