The hypercrisy regarding Garen is RIDICULOUS.
Any time Riven is flexing a 50%+ WR in the lower elos, people begin CHANTING to nerf her because it means something is wrong. This is because Riven is a skill-intensive champion, thus it'd be odd for her to succeed at lower elos. Her exact opposite is Garen. While Riven's trading pattern become obscured by her animation-cancelling the higher you go, Garen's trading pattern becomes more blatant when viewed by skilled eyes. Riven becomes harder to handle, so Garen SHOULD become a piece of pie. This isn't the case.
** How come players that SHOULD be SMACKING this brute around often fail to do so? **
If Riven isn't allowed to have a 50% WR in low elo, Garen shouldn't be allowed to have a 50% WR in high elo. Yet here we are. Any time you complain about Garen, you're called a low elo scrub. Garen's WR in Plat is 53%, in Diamond 51%, and in Masters 52%. It is only, AND only in Challenger that Garen's WR plummets far beneath 50%.
The thing to note here is that, YES, he's balanced on paper in the higher elos, but Garen's WR represents more than BALANCE.
** Garen's WR reflects how much he can BRUTE FORCE, thus EVERY single percentage over 50% is proof that SKILLED play against Garen isn't rewarding. **
He's not like Annie, Malphite, or Mordekaiser. He doesn't have teamfight changing CC to warrant this WR. All of his power lies in his ability to brute force things, so why is this okay?
Must we ALL be CHALLENGER level players for our skill to be REWARDED against Garen?
