Best strategy for climbing?

I read on one of those Instagram LoL accounts that you do your best in the first game of the day. Since then, I've been playing Ranked once a night Tuesday-Thursday and then normals. But I was talking to a friend last night and he was like "no, it's like Black Jack. If you're hot, keep playing until you lose."

Alright, GD, help me out here. Which option is best? I'd like to hit Gold (even though I'm Bronze) and i'm getting to a place where I think my level of play makes it possible. I'm just looking for strategies to optimize my play. I'd get a coach, but I don't play enough (I work full time) to make it worth my while.

I say play ranked until you lose 2 in a row, then take a break from ranked for a couple hours. If you feel like you really want to try again (since sometimes the circumstances of those two losses might make you tilt hard) then try again. If you lose again then just wait until the next day to do ranked. It's really easy to go on massive loss streaks because of tilt, almost like the system knows you're tilting so you're put with people that are also on tilt to feed the frustration...

Thanks, man. I'd love to play more ranked, but as a Support main it can be hell to carry. I really need to get to item 3 in order to carry, and depending on the ADC, that's pretty hard.

I'd probably recommend playing at most two ranked games in a session.

If you keep playing beyond that, you will likely become fatigued (which will make your play suffer) and you may tilt due to previous games.
