Glad you lowered the price of champion mastery, but it's really not enough.

It shouldn't be a decision of whether or not I buy a champion or uprgrade my champion mastery. If anything, it should be free, and you should just have to work for it harder, because let's be honest, three S- or above games then another 3 S or above games doesn't exactly make a master.

Because that is entirely counter-productive to the point of it.

What those mastery levels are for, the reason they exist and were put into the game at all, was for them to be a Blue Essence dump that was asked for by players. That is their purpose. They are meant to be an optional side activity for players to grind away at in order to get a graphical badge, that doesn't actually serve a purpose outside of the grind as something to do, as 3 S Ranks don't make a Master. But you are suggesting to remove that.

I dunno I kinda had this crazy idea that instead of an IP dump they make it an actual representation of skill and mastery. Wild concept, I know.

But you see, we already had that. It's ranked (in theory). But not everyone does ranked while players liked mastery and wanted more levels, because it made them feel good, and they complained that they capped it out quick, while players were also complaining they didn't have anything to spend BE on, so there you go and we are here now. Because collecting mastery points and post game stats cannot represent skill and mastery. So we got those shiny badges that players like so much instead, "everybody can have fun getting those", you see.

I agree. The cost of upgrading Masteries is still extremely expensive, even with the change. Since the current BE is used for more than just upgrading Masteries and Shards, it's harder to spend a ≈3150 champion-worth of BE to get a new emote. The trade-off is desirable when you don't have all the champions or you want something worth BE.

Because of the update, I have a huge stash of upgradable masteries waiting for champion shards to upgrade them. But sometimes, you need BE for something and that shard that is needed to upgrade the mastery could be used to buy that new champion, but you also want to upgrade the mastery. smh

i dont break champ shards anymore becaus i can use them to lv up. but im 100% reliant on rng capsules to get a few champs to lv 6 and 7

Wouldn't be so bad if riot didn't seem to block you from receiving shards for champs you actually play. People have posted collections of hundreds of champ shards and none of their desired/favorites.

Yeah, this whole champ shard with a level up thing is honestly a load of nonsense. It's much slower IP gain, and I can't even use the shards because I don't play the champs I get shards for.
