The BEST role for Varus is as a poke mid

If you disagree with this, you should post a statement, or question, and I will try to respond with my thoughts including build questions. Don't mention his lack of escape as the reason he cannot mid. I am saying right now, THIS IS HIS BIGGEST WEAKNESS. But that does not mean he cannot/should not go mid. There are plenty of mid champions that have no direct escape. Xerath is amazing mid right now, he has no dash/jump/movespeed increase. If you want to know specific strengths, please, ask me about it. I firmly believe this is his best role, and he actually fills a very unique spot right now that shuts down a lot of common mid picks.

sigh As fun as playing poke/snipe Varus is, it's not his best build or the best use of his abilities. Although he needs some tweaking, Varus works much better as a duelist.

If you max CDR and build him correctly, his arrows are dealing 700-800 damage each on a 4 second CD. you win games just from poke alone.

I'm aware, but not only does your passive go to waste, your W goes to waste, your E is half useless and your R is meh in these situations.

item 3031 item 3087 item 3158 item 3508 item 3035 Is typically a great build for some burst with your basic attacks while still giving you a lot of possible poke damage.

item 3031 item 3046 item 3006 item 3153 item 3035 Though gives you MUCH better dueling potential. Hitting someone with bork and ult followed by three autos into E and three more before quickly popping them with a no charge Q will often decimate a squishy champion. Even if they run away, all you have to do is charge your Q and snipe them.
