WOW is it just me or is Fiora...

WAYYYY too strong right now? She legit dominates every time I see her in a game. Let me ask a question, if she gets to deal that much damage, why is she so mobile? No really. What are you supposed to do in lane? This isn't a rage thread I'm legitimately curious if anyone else thinks she needs to be toned down a bit.

You picked aatrox and took ignite and ghost. It's a bad match up for him. His engage is q, which is easily Parried. His w can be waited out until you last hit a minion and she can trade with q then.

She's fine imo. I've never had a problem when fighting her in lane, people just tend to underestimate her damage and get punished for it. First and foremost, she is a duelist, a champion meant to be good at 1v1ing throughout the game, every matchup is a skill matchup, a good Fiora beats most champions. Her kit has quite a large amount of counterplay in it and I find that most people complaining about her being op generally are just ignorant of how one should lane into fiora.(not necessarily talking about this post in particular but the constant QQ threads I see.)

Her passive(duelist's dance) deals %max health true damage which on paper seems pretty oppressive, however, I like the %max health true damage because it makes it so Fiora doesn't really burst a squishy much more than bursting a tank giving both a relatively equal chance. The %max health true damage accounts for an average of 30% of her damage with the rest being physical and a little bit of magic damage from her parry so building resistances is not completely useless it still mitigates a large portion of her damage which people don't seem to understand. In particular, what I like about this passive is how it's used in duels. Calling out a side that fiora will strike from and giving the enemy champion the chance to defend that side or back off(if unfavourable side) and reset the passive, making fiora call out a new side.

Her biggest counters are grievous woundsitem 3123 summoner 14 because she relies on her passive healing hard, champions with a really oppressive earlygame Pantheon Jayce, other champions known for their duellingJax. Something that would help is a good gank or two early in the game(before first item) to put her behind.

Forgot to add, burst is a counter to Fiora since she generally has 2 building options, mostly tank for survivability or mostly AD for presence. If she builds tank she does little damage but has enough survivability to do decent in teamfights and provides utility with her ult. If she builds damage she will be able to duel every champion in the game if played right especially if she's allowed to snowball. The problem with building damage is she is really squishy and vulnerable to burst and cc which she can block a little of with parry but if a team chains their cc(like they should) then she will just die in teamfights. Her bad teamfight is why she tends to split which puts the rest of her team at risk if the opposing team forces a fight.

Edit - Added a counter.

Just because a particular champ is good/bad against her, doesn't mean she is healthy to play against for all the others. She has too much sustain for such a mobile high damage champ.

I don't think she's way out of line, maybe a bit over-tuned, but she at least has to work for that damage. Why is she so mobile? Much of her damage is locked into her passive, which requires her to get to the proper side of her opponent to activate, she has to have good mobility or her effectiveness drops dramatically (read: off a cliff) So what to do v her in lane? #1: Protect your vitals, if she can't reach that Vital, she doesn't get the damage, the heal, or the movement speed from it, and a new vital won't appear for a while (which means she can't start chaining vitals and dumpstering your health bar). It's not so much that she shouldn't be getting any vitals, rather it's about reducing how many you allow her to get and making her work for them. That buys you time and health to help you kill her or escape.

Idk. I had a Fiora in one of my games yesterday 1v3. Went mostly Lifesteal with a BC. And tore through a Lucian, Poppy, and Gragas.

because shes equally squishy. she doesnt even have a shield like yasuo or riven.

the only thing she has is riposte, which is on a around 15 sec cooldown even midgame with cdr. basically if she misuses riposte, or you have just more than one single form of cc on your team, you can lock her down and blow her up without efford.

thats why shes so good in 1v1 scenarios and small skirmishes and sucks in teamfights. you beat fiora by grouping.

in lane, its best to try and freeze on your side. since most fioras rush tamat theyll automatically push lane. so its shouldnt be hard. try to hide vitals inside walls, and reset the vitals by walking off her screen for a sec to get them into a more beneficial position to you.

there is a pattern to how those vitals spawn. basically after you had a back vital, the next one will always spawn in front. thats when you back off and reset it to not give her free poke.

her true damage also needs a lot of ad to ramp up, so early game, a ninja tabi rush helps.

Lane trick against (or as) Fiora that nobody seems to talk about, but most high level top-mains do instinctively: if you get a vital that's unfavorable for you, duck back out of her passive range, to get rid of it, and the next one to generate will be more favorable.

If Fiora knows to play around this too, then the lane will look like both you and Fiora repeatedly running back and forth in and out of range of her passive, because interactive minigame counterplay means making gameplay (the thing, not the board) look as ridiculous as possible.

But yeah, this can seriously change the lane if one person does it and the other doesn't, so it's important to know.

The rhetorical question though.
