Lets talk about Garen jungle

So I have been running Garen jungle lately. I am in gold 3 currently. I have done it in the past, and have actually loved it after they changed his E to deal FULL damage to monsters. Let me just say, I love it. His level 1-2 is a little rocky, but once you hit 3 and grab lvl 2 E, it starts going real smooth. The clear time he gets when you build a little damage is CRAZY good. You might think his passive is useless because monsters make it reset, but there are a lot of times in the jungle where you are roaming around, or waiting to go in for a gank, and that extra 50-100 heath here and there REALLY make a big difference, especially when you go and take down scuttler crab and its healing you the entire time.

Now how are the ganks? They are pretty darn good imo. The movespeed boost from Q allows you to almost always get to your target, and the silence is SO GOOD for preventing flashes/escapes. His main asset is the damage tho. You go in for a gank and just annihilate laners with your E.

Are there better choices? well, yea, but does that make him bad? absolutely not... I would give garen jungle a 7-8 out of 10 for overall effectiveness. What do you think?

I played it when I was tired of doing normal jungles and it turned out to work pretty well. First back is rough but after that it's smooth as hell. Just rush a cinderhulk and a thornmail then grab a toad buff and you can just watch the enemy adc kill themselves on you. It's fun.

As for what xuldin said that he brings meh damage. Seems you simply don't know to be afraid of garen yet. Even without any damage items he can hurt a squishy pretty bad with a q e combo and he will always catch up eventually.

Other jungle tanks do the job just as well or even a little better.

other junglers can just do what he does but better and with more reliable ganks. Udyr is the closest thing to Garen and he does even more than Garen and is way more useful since he can stun people. Twisted Fate jungle is better than Garen, literally almost any non-support champion can do what Garen does but better

I've done some jungle garen here and there and its pretty effective. I like it but I prefer toplane simply cut I'm used to it. He can be effective in either role and slightly more presence than in toplane.

As a Garen main I haven't been a fan of him in the jungle. I typically play him as a tank, and I feel like you have to build him as a fighter in order to have the kind of jungle pressure you need. It's a matter of personal preference though, and just on facts alone Garen can be quite the jungler.
