As a support, am i in the wrong for this?

So during laning phase i was like 1/1/4 or something like that and then to save jinx i got a few kills, my adc did not care, not in the slightest because i saved her. The jungler however was flaming me, telling me i will always be bronze (despite me explaining ive been in and out of s/g last season) and then when zed was going to die (mentioning the zed was around 1/5 completely feeding out of his mind, jungler and zed were duoed btw) a "teamfight" broke out. Minus the top laners. Long story short i got a triple kill by myself. Zed was half health watching me, literally not even trying to participate. Jax then flames more saying i should give him the kills because i am the support. Naturally i would agree, however, it wasnt really possible for me to give the kills out considering how far away zed was and also, i didnt want zed to become worth gold again because that would give the enemy an advantage. Am i in the wrong for doing so?

New supports have pentakill quotes for a reason - there is absolutely no reason to actively stop trying to kill an enemy in a teamfight to placate an ally who feels entitled to stoking their e-peen with their KDA. If the team is fighting, there is a LOT of chaos, and slacking off can result in an ally death or your own; it's better to secure a kill and give your team assist gold than to let a potentially lethal enemy get one last chance to take someone out with them just because some ally of yours thinks you don't deserve kills.

Granted, this philosophy does not apply in the laning phase, as the support needs to spoon feed the ADC the kills so that they can ramp up, but once roaming begins and team fights break out, all bets are off and a kill is a kill and ensures survival and objective control.

Nope, you were just securing the kill.

Considering that the biggest powerspike in the game is a sight stone, It is never wrong to give the kills to a support.

There is no problem with supports getting kills. they need gold too.

Only time i would be mad is if a support stole penta.

Or any role?

Those teammates really just sound like they are trying to blame you for their own faults.

Given that the support already has less XP and gold to begin with, out doing those player as the support just shows, how trash those player actually were. (As a support main, I never find myself in that position, in games where my laners are actually doing well.)

These are people who avoid the support role like the plague on the misplaced sense that a support can't carry. And get butt hurt when they actually see the support carry.

Not wrong at all.

Give kills to carries where possible, but it's not a big deal if you get them in close situations where a teammate would die otherwise, and it's definitely not a bad thing if you get them in scenarios where no one else would have been able to.

Your build and playstyle should not be based on the expectation of getting kills however. If I find myself with a couple early kills, I generally translate that into an early ruby sightstone, and then proceed as normal. Don't be the support who gets a couple early kills and sees that as an opportunity to build ludens 'to keep up the snowball'.

literally biggest whole team powerspike is if you grab that sightstone first way before the other support. If you play it incredibly well you can orchestrate the entire rest of the game's pacing and objective control a literal whole step ahead of your opponent after you get first blood on support. Sweeper even has a delay before it becomes active, so the enemy supp, even if like 3 min later gets his SS and sweeper he's like forever behind because you're tearing his wards a new ass while he can do nothing about yours for what feels like forever.

Unless you are in a voice comm with your ally and he specifically says "I'm ulting to finish them off" or something else of the sort than fucking spam damage on priority targets.

I don't get a huge number of kills on my supports but honestly, I very rarely am making a conscious effort to "feed" anybody. I'm building SS, tank, and supp items. If they're not garbage they will play off of you and your CC/Burst/Combo in a manner that appropriately secures the kill for themselves. Otherwise, fuck em.

if you can secure a kill before your jungler/adc/midlaner take it. your jungler was just blaming you for his mistakes

Pay no mind to the flaming Elo-hell inhabitants. Last hitting is an art that requires skill, luck, or simply click the enemy. Securing the kill is way more important than allowing the target to escape or kill a teammate.

Many people will cry KS (Kill-Steal) but higher levels will look at it as "Kill-Secured" depending on the situation.

I jungle/ support main. Fuck your team and take all the kills. When I support I never build any of the new support items. Athens unholy grail and ardent censor are way better in terms of overall usefulness. Plus they give ap which helps all of you abilities potency. As well as the fact that it might give you a small amount of wave clear and samage in a team fight. Plus you will have more overall healing. You can always build redemption later but 30% attack speed for your adc could be clutch!
