The problem with Zhonya

In a previous discussion about the new Guardian Angel, I just noticed that Zhonya may be a problem for all the AP itemization as a whole.

Zhonya have been nerfed a trillion times because "Zhonya is too good" (blatant lie), and the reason AP champs are not getting any good new ítem is because "Zhonya is too good".

Zhonya is starting to remind me of the times of Death Fire Grasp, when all the AP itemization was nerfed in advance "because everyone is going to get extra AP damage so we have to balance it".

I haven't use Zhonya since season 5, its stats are shit, its active is difficult to use, and 90% of the time you die two seconds after using Zhonya anyway, but for some reason it is totally screwing the AP itemization.

Maybe Zhonya needs to go so we can get some useful AP ítem.

Mhm i don't agree. I think its rabbadons. Because the passive percentage increase of ap was enhanced, all other items can't give a lot of ap anymore. I've seen a tread that discusses this somewhere before but I'm too lazy to link it.
