I'm actually loving Flex Queue so far

HateDaddy··33 votes·2,132 views

Not because the gameplay is high quality or anything because it's not. It's a joke. But I am loving it because of having bronze/silver players in games with plats/diamonds and watching them get stomped. Maybe now they can stop blaming their teammates and realize the only people holding them back are themselves. Because y'know, they totally belong in plat/diamond elo and beat diamonds/plats in normals all the time with their friends (though they conveniently forget to mention they're probably playing their mains while the plat/diamond is bullshitting). So good job Riot, doing God's work here.

No, I don't. Because the games are actually nothing like that at all. It's basically which team has the most lower rated players vs which team has the best higher rated player. The one who carries the hardest wins. That's not fun for either team, but the upside is when I have a bronze 2 jinx trash talking in champ select about how he plays and regularly beats plats/diamonds with his friends in normals only to get mega ass slammed and be exposed as a terrible player, I see the positive in this clown fiesta of a situation. Even if I get placed bronze/silver/gold, I'll have no problems climbing back up. So either way, it's nice to actually see lower rated players with egos be humbled. Because I got humbled a long time ago.

The problem is, players in lower elos often can't figure this out by themselves, and will continue to blame their team anyway

That's fine but guess what claim they can't make? That they belong in a higher elo when they get eviscerated by higher elo players than themselves

I mean, you are cherry picking to make a point to an extent just saying diamonds are stomping bronzies essentially, when that isn't 100% the case.

It isn't like it is a 1v1, and more often than not the differences are all over the place rank wise. I've had a bronze adc and a diamond top in the same game, and no one above gold on the other team so far in this joke of a queue.

Seems you are just looking for a reason to mock lower ranked players because reasons.

There's more to the game than 1v1. The bronze jinx wasn't even playing against a diamond, he was vs a gold Quinn. He was just completely out of place in all aspects of the game - csing, skirmishes, teamfights, objective control etc.

As that Bronze 2 player thats humble enough to know how bad he can be sometimes i quite frankly cant understand why this is being encouraged. being forced to play with plat players when your supposed to be facing players of a SIMILAR rank is by definition broken. Telling riot they did a "good job" in doing this is like encouraging a 16 year old to keep on being a bully and not fixing the mentality. this is going to be fixed and your mentality is quite frankly very toxic in my personal opinion of course

In general, I don't think it's good at all. I think it's a terrible idea to pair these different ranges with each other. But it's done and it's going to stay done. May as well enjoy it and see it's upsides now.

GypsyReborn5 votes

but there is no upside? its only forcing people to A. not play ranked til it gets fixed. or B.stop playing altogether. even high elo streamers have said this is a fcked up situation

GarthBrooksIV1 votes

Actually, Riot has posted that they know it is bad and they're going to fix it asap.

Flex queue is the definition of a clown fiesta lmao. Both teams will have that one bronze player that doesn't use ward trinkets and have less that 100 farm at 20 minutes and usually that bronze player doesnt even play support and has to go mid or top because it is the "only role" they know how to play. First five minutes you will hear first blood and you know its either the bronze on the enemy team or your own team

I just get a kick out of being placed bronze 3 flex yet all my teammates and opponents are gold and silver

Hyperiön2 votes

This happened in my placements. I was up against plat/diamonds, and the people on my team were low silver/unranked/bronze. The games were so 1 sided. Theres nothing I could have done to try to stop it. I roamed to help top get some kills, and a couple bot, but late game, their mechanics just outshowed all of ours. It sucks because then it put in back in Bronze 4, when I was gold 5. And now I am getting 28 LP per win, which means I don't belong there. I guess the system just wants me to stomp the low levels and make the climb a lot easier. Or it could have spared the bronzies the trouble, and placed me in silver.

Getting shit on by someone several tiers above them is not going to make them think they are bad. They will just blame Riot's absolute shit matchmaking.

Xonra1 votes

I mean, I don't completely blame them, as even Riot is blaming Riot right now for the absolute shit matchmaking, and took down ranked to try and fix it. So in this instance, for the first time, they aren't wrong.

I was in a game yesterday enemy teem 3 plats 1 diamond and a bronze my team 2 silver 3 gold and you know who won we did so plats and diamonds cant carry a single bronze? or is it that some plats and diamonds really are boosted or maybe some of us stuck in gold and silver play just as well as these plats but have no luck getting ok players on there team that don't dc every 3 mins. so ya I'm enjoying this 2 it shows that I can actually be competive enough to face plats. shit I even won a game that trick2g was on other team he ended up in bronze 3 btw I got bronze 1 after the 10 games only 2 have to play another game today to be replaced won that placed in bronze 2 wtf??? after I was already in promo for silver 5 with 2 wins 0 losses :(

yeh people dont even talk back lmfao. it's actually nice to see that they take the beating without salt. as much as i accept the beating of a high masters player meanwhile im a mid diamond monkey. I find flex que a way to train and it's going good so far for me everygame i play i focus on early preassure and improving my early which is the major reason i cant advance further second to me beeing toxic;ppp but yeh its a good learning experience to match with higher elo players and see what they do better than you. And the feel when you beat someone 3-4 divisions up on you is priceless specially when they play they mains. But goldies and plats gonna cry anyway they wanna climb but they dont wanna try to improve they think they can climb simply by stomping players weaker than them but that wont happen for too long.

yeah exactly, I'm excited for the prospect of playing against much higher level players in a more serious game mode. Because in normals, I've played against a bunch of challengers or pros and it doesn't mean anything. They're dicking around half the time and the other half they're probably playing with viewers so they're simply playing something troll by request. I like the opportunity to see how I stack up and what I need to work on when playing in this queue. I know they probably aren't taking it AS seriously as they would a challenger/masters game but they're certainly going to be putting more effort in than they would in some meaningless normal game.

exactly!

Stories I have been hearing sound pretty funny. Hopefully it helps players realize like you said the only one holding them back is themselves. I have been pretty much stuck binge playing 3v3 flex, so only played 2 5v5 flex so far. I Assume I am going to get destroyed in placements and placed low, but don't really care. Just more climbing to do later in the season. Definitely not going to try to get higher than gold in flex anyways so not too stressed out about it.

People asked for a "hard reset", so they got it. And now they are complaining.

I thought ranking in the very beginning of the season has been a clown fiesta anyways?

GypsyReborn3 votes

it may have been a hard reset but the aftermath of being bronze 2 after placements and being paired for 2 plats is fairly unbalanced. its not the hard reset im complaining sbout its the fact that after i was placed in bronze 2(which is my elo and where i was last season) ive had to face golds plats and diamonds

GypsyReborn2 votes

out of the 12ish games ive played in flex so far only 4 of those games were majority bronze players. barring the occasional silver 5 player. and that was about 4 or 5 days ago

I got placed in Silver 2 and it's quite common, even today, to see lots and high Gold and Platinum players in my games. I play it occasionally when I feel like playing difficult games.

WoonStruck1 votes

In which case you skip 2 divisions with every promo match.

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

We asked for a hard reset in SOLOQ not FlexQ. But we don'T get soloQ only duo and no hard reset either. So yeah all these boosted animals will stay in low diamond for several months. Great.

Sukishoo2 votes

It's not the reset though as the season has yet to start.

I don't see any issue with Flex Queue. It's helping me improve as a player, and even though I was a Gold 3 player going into placements, I ended up Gold 5. I barely dropped, even though I've been playing with and against plat (and I've seen one or two diamond) players.

They point out any mistakes I make, and I improve. Plus it feels good being a higher rank than streamers I watch (Suck it gbay99)

Xonra1 votes

It isn't helping me improve because half the time I just feel like throwing sand at people lol

Not much I can learn getting camped in lane and tower dove constantly by the guy who is obviously better than me (I have no problems admitting it), and his premade buddy (or buddies) at level 5.

Du Ma Mi1 votes

I've seen it happen to myself too. I'm not claiming to be better than the D3 Rengo on the other team - but you should notice what they're doing, when they're roaming, how they're farming, how they engage - make some positive tips for yourself why you cry, or scream, or cut the head off of your pet fish because they keep killing you.

That's what I did! #RIPGoldilocksTheGoldfish

"watching Diamond/Plat stomping Silver/bronze" "Maybe they can realize it is their fault"

Is this serious? You are saying you find it funny that people FAR above them in rank/skill are "stomping" them because of said skill/rank difference, then saying it is all their fault so they shouldn't blame someone not themselves.

The Deckowner1 votes

why bother playing flex queue which might fuck up your mmr for next season? just play normal it is exact the same.

Yeah, Im sure it was fun for the Gold Draven main getting stomped by 3 golds, a silver and a bronze because his team were all bronze 4 (Hint: I was the bronze guy carried by the 3 golds)
