i've played with the new hud 3 times
seriously what is the fuss about it? i like it, and have no trouble seeing the stats i want to see, or keeping track of my allies health?
G&B will complain about anything

In my opinion new HUD is really smart. Like less focusing on shit, more on mini map zone.
I made a thread about "the fuss" http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/wPy0wEYM-legitimate-issues-with-the-new-hud
tl;dr
yea, i also don´t think it´s that bad - just needs a little time to adjust.
what would be really great though is if they´d allow to draw+scale things around freely, allowing for an individualy optimized UI (one of the biggest strengths of WoW actually, the original UI had been unplayable on a high-lvl, but you could just optimize everything with the right addons).
I have a vision impairment and have issues with certain elements of the HUD. Previously I made adjustments to the UI by modifying the .ini files that built it for the game.

Note the position of the team frames. I put them all in a nice even square (I can better focus on all of them at once like this) and enlarged them for better visibility.
This is what the new HUD looks like:

First of all Riot decided to make the teamframes circular for some reason, which my eyes do not follow well and makes it harder for me to tell certain champions apart. Second of all look how horribly small they made them. I'd like to point out that this is with all of the interface scale setting set to max. The health and resource bars are so tiny that they might as well not even be there.
Now originally this wouldn't have been too much of an issue for me. On the PBE I actually modded this new HUD to basically make the teamframes like I had them before this update, and I had it ready for when the HUD was released to live, but as it turns out Riot decided at the last minute to get rid of the .ini files and shove everything related to the HUD into binary files that I cannot modify. Now I'm stuck with whatever options are available by default and they simply aren't enough.
My main issue with the new HUD is that the icons to increase ranks in abilities look different and I occasionally forget to allocate my points. Though that was only really an issue for the first couple games in ARAM; I'm used to it now.
Personally, I think it would be nice if they moved your allies icons, health, and mana back to their previous positions on the left side of the screen; they are pretty small and a bit difficult to see currently. If they used the champion display from spectate mode (which gives numeric cooldown timers for ultimates and summoner spells), I would be ecstatic.
Honestly, the biggest issue is probably that people don't want to take the time to adjust. Stuff has moved around but they aren't giving themselves time to get used to the new positions. For the most part, the new HUD is a definite improvement.
Looks like people find new thing to blame instead them self. "GG new HUD fukt up my skill" just makes me laugh XDXD
