So the Ryze nerfs on PBE have been adjusted... but WHY are you trying to make Ryze viable at all!?

After 5 years of melee getting dumpstered patch after patch as Riot responds to the beat of "counterplay! counterplay! health laning phase! counterplay!" they break their logic every single time it's a ranged champion. Darius has an unhealthy laning phase and lacks counterplay? Dumpster that motherfucker and never return him to even remote viability ever again! Kennen does the exact same thing except has a late game? Well that's fine, he's ranged! Irelia has an unhealthy laning phase and lacks counterplay? Jack 40 damage off her E! Ryze does the exact same thing? Well I'm sure we can make this viable.

What the fuck is the difference between Darius and Ryze? Both mash Q on you all laning phase then all in with a CC and kill you. Ryze is also ranged and a hypercarry though. What the fuck are you doing trying to push Ryze in to viability again? Is kennen not enough? For fuck's sake people are taking Morgana top and turning the wave in to a last hit simulator for 20 minutes. What is it going to take to convince Riot their blatant bias is making the game worse? It's making the game less fun. Farming against Kennen is NOT fun. Farming against Morgana is NOT fun. Farming against Ryze is ESPECIALLY not fun since he never runs out of damage and can chase the kill.

So if you're going to buff Ryze: Buff Darius. And not this "hur hur we're kinda undoing some of the nerfs we did 5 years ago" I mean lets revert him back to season 2. Revert all 3 of his E nerfs, revert his R nerf, revert that other R nerf (you know the one), revert his R to reset on every kill, and revert that "bug fix" where his pull no longer pulls people out of escape moves. Then finally we can have an unhealthy melee champion to fight Ryze with since you're nerfing Irelia on the same patch you're buffing Ryze (because reasons!)

You are making your game less fun for top players because of your overt gross bias. Your bias in the past simply annoyed top players every time mages have become viable, but it seems your god given mission lately has been to bring back every single top champion THAT WAS NERFED IN THE FIRST PLACE FOR BEING TERRIBLE. Morgana, Cassiopeia, Kennen, and now Ryze? They didn't suddenly become less toxic just because some time passed.

Shit, why not bring Yorick back? Same thing.

Yeah that'd be crazy. It'd be like nerfing Hexdrinker, Banshee's veil, Spirit Visage, and Spectre's cowl all on the same patch!

They are buffing Darius btw.

0 mana cost on ult at level 3. Ult resets on Kill at rank 3 as well.

Where do you get the almost part? It literally does nothing for Darius except giving him a chance to erase a poor sod who steps out of place and into a pile of shit.

They definitely overdid it with the Ryze nerfs a few months back. 20 base damage at level 1 and 40 base damage at level 5 on his Q was a lot (live value 120 base damage at lvl5). They aren't bringing it back to the old values (as they shouldn't), but this will help him out a lot until his rework. Btw. Before the time of his "Ryze" to popularity last season, he was considered a Midlaner because he was a Mage carry. Toplane meta has shifted a lot and we're seeing more and more carries in that lane. And not all of them are ranged carries. Riot very well may be trying to bring more toplaners back into the scene because it's no longer Season 2 top lane bruiser fest. Ranged do have a distinct advantage over melee champions, particularly in the laning phase. Ryze is considerably weak right now with his live values on his Q though; he has a 42-45% winrate nowadays. Whereas Darius is only a low tier champion in high levels of play as he isn't in a spot where he can carry due to Mana gating and difficulty getting on targets and his tankiness is outclassed by other champions. He doesn't provide much CC for a team so he has little utility in a team comp. However, he is solo queue stomping in lower levels of play like Fiora, Yi, or Riven. Playing Darius is like playing single player mode where you don't do anything for your team but kill shit that gets close to you. I will be happy when Ryze gets his rework, but he needed this buff. Just as Darius needs a buff/rework to make him better equipped for the team game. And it think giving him more free dunks will help him carry games, particularly because getting a Pentadunk is nearly impossible with each one costing 100 mana on a champion that builds almost none.
