There is a rumor on reddit that Janna is not getting nerfs because Meddler is a Janna otp.

No the truth is that they are doubting their own decisions and they just hesitate. There probably are some dudes on the team with diffrent opinions and they just can't come to a conclusion. They just lack a clear heal and shield agenda. That's all.

On one hand they are considering shield counter items but on the other hand they kinda know that this is not the best way. But if they don't bring a shield counter item and just nerf shields, they kinda lack the justification for grievous wounds to still be in the game, and that again would mean much more work.

I think he meant that those 2 champions overshadows Janna with their outstanding pick/ban record, up to a point where pros forgot Janna existed.

I think it's pretty pointless to accuse Riot all the time of "only caring for pro play" when it's so obvious that they did talk about shields several times. Pointless and unconstructive.
