baron buff is stupid

why is this dog shit still here 4 years later? its awful

post 20 minutes unless I or my team am ungodly fed I literally can't split push without TP because they'll take baron, get their FAST recall to stop any momentum I might have, and their minions become borderline invincible (and then they just slow push our base in Because minions do all the tower damage for them xd)

I remember when baron had an opportunity cost when a split push was on the map. Objectively better times

Complaining about implementing strategy in a game that involves strategy...

"this is a bad strategic element" is not rebutted by "its a strategic element"

there is less "strategy" in new baron than old. you can either play entirely around it and close to it or you can lose.

The lane you split push in depends on your TP. If it's up split bot, if not split top. Vision control around baron determines how far you can push. It's no different than when a drake is up or a nexus is open, game state determines what you should do.

yeah and before this baron you could afford to opt out of it entirely and go hard for the split and trade towers and maybe an inhibitor to even out the baron advantage with supers

right now if you are not immediately able to contest baron because you went to split or farm you're trolling

It sounds like you want to play hero-ball and not play with your team.... Go play Fortnite or C.O.D. and you can, but this is a game where teamwork matters!

Yeah it is overturned, not sure why there are so many upvote. It should have about 60-80% of its current power so it's useful, but not an end-all. It serves currently as a game execute.

Right on Moody, but what do you propose to fix it?

Honestly, I just think theinion damage needs to go down by like 25% the bonus minion health or resistances or whatever also needs to go down by a similar amount to make Baron let auto-win

I disagree baron buff is stupid as a thing however I do wish their were more options in tactics then what has been repeated since I started playing. It's always split pushers, 1-3-1, ARAMing it, and pushing with baron buffs. Aside from champions like Yorick there aren't many tower taking strategies to rally behind and I think there should be more variety. Banner of command was lame, okay okay, but come on surely there is more to come up with and facilitate in the game.

The point is to get enough tower-taking ability that you can end the game in 20 sec if left alone. Champions who are known for doing this include Sion Nasus Udyr Tryndamere. This ability isn’t just damage, it’s also map mobility. One reason why Yorick actually is less of a lategame splitpush threat - he’s very telegraphed. So is Nasus, but Nasus two-hits towers so it’s moot.

"a number of players that found themselves playing a long game must have wanted to play a short game instead. Strangely enough instead of going away and playing a short game they incentivized developers to shorten this one." Is another comment I made about baron buff in contradiction to me not thinking it stupid. I don't think its stupid, though I will agree its ridiculously strong. Baron is good for the game in the sense its a contestable objective, but I certainly don't want it to make other potential strategies pointless by comparison.

They could just have baron buff ally minions by 5-10% in damage per baron buff for the rest of the game fulfilling the same idea of progression and promoting team fights. this way it would take 2-4 barons to really make a significant difference rather then first baron allowing the other team to take over even if they were behind.

Or they could have baron flat out replace mountain drake and replace mountain drake with something more in line with the other dragons... you know being how in every other regard dragons effect champions not so much towers.

I think the easiest way to increase the opportunity cost of taking Baron is to remove the empowered recall, or at least disable it until several seconds after Baron dies.

Boatwhistle1 votes

That does nothing to stop the game ending pushing power, it would only reward teams playing poorly getting aced, not warding baron, or responding ASAP.

why isnt a baron buff basically a exoida effect if you claim this you auto win. it feels whenever you game goes smooth then baron gets claimed its a automatic loss there why not just simply declare X team has lost to save the trouble. thats how i feel baron is too much currently. no matter how powerful you are that baron buff can make you op. or better yet remove extreme buffs that put the game into one sided slaughters.
