Caitlyn needs nerfed

There are two mechanics I’m afraid seriously need to be reconsidered in her kit - Her passive auto boost and her ult reset.

The amount of damage her autos already do is sickening, to be any other ADC fighting her puts you at an automatic disadvantage cause’ of her range. Why must she get what is essentially equivalent to an Elder Dragon boost? You essentially can’t just leave her without a passive, but it could be reworked. Maybe instead of her traps being limited to 5 on the map, they work like Teemo shrooms and have timers for expiration. Once they’ve been stepped on, her passive could proc that gives her a movement speed buff toward the trapped enemy. Or maybe her passive allows for her range to extend further on trapped enemies than even now.

Also, being able to use zhonyas is suppose to feel rewarding cause’ you block damage and survive... but with Cait it’s “oops, let me try that again for free. No effort needer”. It resets after 4 seconds. So if this is the case, I think every ult should reset if missed due to zhonyas. I mean, pretty special treatment Caitlyn gets.

Her ult does not reset if you properly time Zhonya's. It only resets if it's interrupted in the channel. If you actually time Zhonya's properly it works just fine.

And "Champion has things" is not justification for a nerf. Period. Not on anyone.

Cait is pretty strong, If anyone says otherwise then they are lying.

It's actually kind of tough to tell if she does or not looking at the numbers. If it stays with this playrate and increases in Winrate even just 1% consistently then it's prolly safe to say she needs a nerf.

Here's the thing, if we just go off of OP.GG then basically the top 3 should be receiving nerfs (which they may) The top 3 on op.gg are

  1. Caitlyn (51% WR and 26% Playrate)
  2. Miss Fortune (53% WR and 11% Playrate)
  3. Lucian (50% WR and 24% Playrate)

Objectively nerfing Cait for being too strong based on the win and playrate would mean you would need to nerf the other 2 as well because they are essentially just as strong if you are looking at it from just a % and numbers pov. If you nerf Cait then that basically buffs the other 2 who are already technically strong but also it would buff (indirectly as well) every counter that Cait has.

The biggest prob with ADC / BOt as a Role is that there aren't as many champions that get put in that lane so you see bigger swings in playrate compared to other lanes.

The thing with Cait is she has a high enough skill ceiling to where the difference between a good and bad player piloting her is a big enough difference to where it's tough to accurately judge if she is OP or not..

For Example, Ashe, when she was at 54% Winrate I was one of the first to make a thread asking "Where's the Outrage" cause essentially nobody was saying anything about her and it wasn't so much her dmg or anything just the utility and ease of execution that was making her just win basically.

Cait isn't really as forgiving as Ashe, she is mechanically more demanding and although her Range is higher than most it's still up to the player to actually abuse it, the higher in elo you go though the better she should be though because those little things are what makes her a higher mechanically demanding ADC (compared to a Ashe).

Idk, because she has so many conditional things it's tough to say she needs a nerf but she is for sure needing a spotlight on her going forward cause she may actually be overtuned even just a lil
