The thing I miss most about masteries is allocating points into them.

And the number of points placed into them determined their strength.

This allowed players to mix and match masteries and opened up entirely new windows of possibilities.

The meta was in constant flux as a result and no one build was the absolute best.

Which in almost every case was the less optimal possibility.

There is a reason why pretty much every single Korean challenger player invested the max points into a mastery.
