I really hope they don't buff Bard.

People say Bard sucks just because they can't play him. Remember when Gnar came out nobody knew how to play him and then they buffed Gnar. People learned how to play him, and then we got an absolute monster.

Bard is not weak, he just takes some time getting used to playing. IIRC people said Yasuo was trash when he came out but later on the same patch people realized he was a complete monstrosity to fight if you knew how to play him and begged for nerfs.

bard needs some kind of buff though because its A: stay in lane as support and you can never get chimes or B: go get chimes while ur adc feeds

the health shrines dont do jack shit and the exp you get from chimes versus staying in lane is horse shit

A & B have nothing to do with Bard needing buffs, but everything to do with players (both Bard players and other players on the team) needing to learn how to play as/with Bard.

The health shrines have a higher AP scaling than Sona's healing. Granted, they don't have the bonus healing for your missing help, but it should be easier to stay topped off on health with a Bard support than a Sona support.

He might be weak, but it's definitely true that most people are simply really bad with him since he's new (and his Ult has an insanely high skill cap to use correctly).

Gnar wasn't even buffed in a numbers sense. He was giving QoL improvements because his boomerang would randomly fly off in a different direction.

That being said, he had a few tweaks a few patches later on nerfing his mini gnar Q but buffing his mega gnar Q yet reducing the ad scaling. But mostly it was the QoL change that helped him the most. A champion shouldn't rely on whether or not his ability decides to work correctly or not or however buggy it feels like being at the time.

Anyways on to the topic: Bard I think does need a buff because chimes aren't rewarding. People just pick them up but do they think about why? They scale really slow and by the time you have 80 or something the base damage from a meep is negligible because everyone has armor/mr/health by then. The slow is pretty nice but doesn't feel impactful during teamfights. His shrines to me are just a speed boost since the healing is minimal from mid to late game. His ult is more useful as a catching/running tool than a teamfight tool. His E is fun but easily telegraphed plus enemies travel through it faster in my mind than they should. His Q is incredibly short ranged, slow missile speed, puts Bard in a risky position to get harassed. He's really too squishy to be using such a short ranged skill.

yes, that must be why he has had less than 40% win rate these past few days. People are just bad with him... how many champions have even reached less than 40% win rate just because players need "to get used to him" or "get good at him"

release yasuo was 40% I believe, and release Syndra was 37%.

To be fair, release Syndra was ungodly bad. She got straight buffs for almost a year until she became strong.

How many champions have required your teammates to actually use their brain while you play them?

There are currently buffs on the PBE, though not around his chimes.

I feel like theirs a bit of a wait and see mindset coming from riot, waiting for the LCS use (or lack their of) of Bard. His Roams would be more pronounced in the team game than in yoloQ, and probably better in the lane swap scenario.
