When do you start supporting another lane?

Lately, I've been having a lot of success going to Mid to support the mid lane if my ADC is found wanting. I'm wondering when you make the decision to leave the ADC, and for what reasons.

Personally, I'm willing to explain things 3 times before I leave. The biggest issue I have is when I get dived, and the ADC runs rather than shoots. But a lack of communication, or poor build paths can exacerbate this as well. And if you V-ping me while I've got 2+ on me it's an immediate goodbye.

Ask for a lane swap if possible, especially if your top lane is doing good and willing to go bot and let the ADC hold top. Otherwise you should never just leave bot and go elsewhere. It soaks up exp from your other teammates and can attract unwanted attention from other lanes which will make it harder for them to farm. Just turtle under tower and wait for ganks or if they take your tower support whichever lane they roam to when needed or push bottom with warding to punish them for roaming.

Asking for lane swap will end up screwing up your top laner and forcing your adc to potential get screwed over top

Adc top without escape can be easily ganked and killed They are the weakest in early game

You tell adc to play safe and turtle while you make potential plays mid and top

The best opportunity to roam is if your lane is even and when enemy bot backs that gives you time to roam

He wasn't asking when to roam from what I read, He was basically asking when to just leave the adc alone in bot 1v2

Read I did say

you said to let your top laner and adc lane swap is a bad idea lose dragon control

If you've warded them up safely, they haven't got a bot lane that can just engage on them whenever (E.g: Leona), and they themselves are ADCs that aren't mega team reliant (E.g: The Kogz), you're safe to roam. Sometimes you can even pull off a quick roam when you're warding, just to catch people off guard. Remember that you always want to roam with an aim, since it's valuable time and EXP that's up for grabs. Don't go ganking a level 6 Kassadin who's pushed to tower for example, or when the team mate you're ganking for is incredibly low :P

I'm saying this more as a "When do you get sick of a first-time ADC in ranked and go to another lane?

Oooo... In which case I don't play ranked because people take it too seriously for their own health :P

Most of the time as a support main you have to recognize the ability of your adc

Is he Csing , how is his mechniacs , does he know how to trade (Taking free dmg and not trading back)

If his position and mechcanics are garbage then it's time to roam

Reason: he is likely to get caught without Doing dps so it's better to peel and support ppl who can carry

If only I see reason to roam, and my adc can survive a while alone, and I don't need exp like Right now, I'll roam. If I have premade somewhere on the map I'll roam all the freaking Time.

a good time to roam is when you push the wave into their tower and have backed. you can go to mid immediately, make a play there, and by the time you go back bot the wave will be reset.

Also when you are so far behind you might aswell abandon the lane and snowball other lanes, but this is risky cuz if your adc doesnt stay under turret he will just keep dying since it's soloQ

When the adc lets you down two times Three strikes and your out

Adc jumping into enemy bot and gets exhausted and die

I am left to 1v2 enemy bot ( they had no summs) and adc calmly Csing a pushing wave ....

Counter ganked enemy jg and got kills Decide to go back bot Adc yet again jumps in (zero dmg bc she is behind) dies for free yet again

When your adc is bad at positioning and cs Just leave they're not likely to carry

Reason: they will die before pumping out dps

Feel free to roam and help other lanes and gank with jungler

This is my thought, roughly. Basically, if my ADC isn't going to perform well, I need to ensure someone will. Often times this draws out the jungle or the other support, and typically ends in a group-5-mid. Which, all things considered, does a lot to mitigate the weaker links on the team.

Conversely, if the ADC and I are on the same page, I get that guy to about 9 kills and then do whatever it takes for towers while he roams.

This is why in Bronze 5 especially you should not be playing engage supports. You and your ADC likely do not have the game knowledge to know when and how to trade. Otherwise you would not be in bronze 5. That's ok. You are learning.

It looks like you like to play Karma and Braum. Karma is an awesome support early game. She has mer Mantra Q's and has really high poke early game. However if you can't get ahead in lane early, she falls off. She requires alot of synergy and such that you are unlikely to get in Bronze 5.

I have been spamming Soraka support. Right now in my opinion she is the best support in the game in bronze and silver. If you build her correctly you become a healing machine and it allows you to carry games. Yes as a soraka support you carry games. Why? Because very few players know that they should be killing you first. 2nd because of the huge amount of healing you can do, you can heal your teammates through poke and damage. Essentially it allows you to "heal stupid". If your ADC is bad and takes poke in lane. You heal them. If your team is trying to push an advantage you can heal them and usually win out.

Is she the most fun champion to play? debatable. You don't play her to get kills, but everyone playing ranked hopefully knows the goal is to take objectives and destroy the nexus. Not your K/D/A.

You strike me as the type of person who finds the caste system reasonable.

Not sure how my comments have anything to do with social status. A. You were not "born in Bronze 5" you were born in silver, your losing streak is what brought you to the slums. If you didn't want advice you should of stayed off the forums. The truth is you are in bronze 5 because of you and your failure to understand the objective of the game.

Let me guess - you're in HR?

Never. No matter how bad or aggressive the ADC is, the only time I roam is when I got t2 boots and my ADC is backing (or the enemy mid is pushed so far into our Tower that my mid basically is at our t2 Tower trying to survive)
