Riverking confirmed for 3 passives
when will we have only 1 passive on a new champion?
when will we have only 1 passive on a new champion?
Is CertainlyT designing this champ?
No, it's ZenonTheStoic who made Lucian and Azir. I think this'll be an alright champion who isn't broken on release!
no but he'll have bugs...
And proceed to be broken after they're all fixed.
People would complain about an OP champion's design regardless of why they're actually OP, though.
How the hell is a champion going to be broken AFTER the bugfix? Isn't the entire point to fix them?
Azir was garbage when he first came out because all the bugs prevented him from functioning to his full capacity.
when they fixed them he started stomping face and they had to progressively nerf nearly every aspect of his kit in order to keep him from being so oppressive with his soldiers in lane/late game.
Oh, you meant broken as in unbalanced lol. I thought you meant broken as in causing the game to freeze up and what not.
Yea I heard the same about Lucian, apparently he was trash tier when he came out because of some bugs, and once they fixed them he became the pick-ban monster us S4 veterans remember.
He had bugs fixed on top of straight up buffs, though.
The same person who made Luc and Azir.
Not overpowered on release?
crap
Damn yo, them CertainlyT fans with the down votes.
I mean he's a good designer, but he shouldn't even be designing champions due to how poorly he balances them. They've all been/still are overpowered.
: 63% winrate immediately on release and was so overpowered she had to be nerfed 2 or 3 days after.
: Invalidates most melee champions, not really that overpowered but I think he was on release
: Has everything but a heal and defines what it means to be an overloaded support
: "well, i guess if we just give her unlimited mobility and infinite damage on one spell we can call it a good champ."
: "wait how many passives does he have again"
: cntrl 4 to win
All of these champions are pretty unique or very, very fun to play. But they all are/were unbalanced.
Now dont get me wrong here, i dont like the guy either but you have to point out thier flaws.
may have a significant burst and is scary in a lane, but gap closers end her fast
is well ok i cant defend him
is not all that op i play thresh his weakness's are based upon the player not to mention hes so squishy early game and really if your team cannot carry out the simplest of task's you wont be able to really be useful..
last game ours kitted their team and got a quadra and it was his 7th time kalista :3
Ha "Wait till late game >:), they'll be like Ha! What shield" - Riot
Tbh hes not
and im perfectly fine with it..
Zyra was overpowered on release, you can't argue with it. She defined overpowered. Right now I guess I "main" Zyra and she's really balanced. Plenty of ways to counterplay, but she's still able to carry.
I think Darius is pretty balanced right now, except if anything I think he should be less easy to kite but also lose some damage in return. There's still people who can duel him pretty well as melee, but he still is stronger than most in a single 1v1 no minions duel.
Thresh has everything, he's like Ekko. Not exactly overpowered but definitely overloaded.
Kalista really overpowered. You couldn't argue with it on her first few days when she was permabanned and was always picked immediately after if the rare case she wasn't. She's not balanced at all right now, but she is much more than she was before.
Yasuo is just, stupid. There's 2 types. Either the good Yasuo, who will block every ult with his shield, carry hard, hit every tornado or the PROJECT Skin Yasuo who goes 2-20 at the end of the game. You can't be in the middle really, or at least I've never seen it.
Zed is overpowered due to his shurikens. I don't care about his mobility or his ultimate, to be honest his ultimate is really easy to counter and you can mess up his combo hard. But his shurikens deal way too much damage and are way too easy to hit. It gives him too much early game power as a melee champion even against ranged champions and due to how well it scales with AD it can be used to burst people down fast. He's not Ekko, I agree, but he is overpowered.
You wanna know whats really op, broken and is absolutely annoying?
Even though its not my fault, still gets leaver buster.
I could spend an hour venting about how bad the leaver buster system is and how bad the chat restriction is. Don't get me started
They're not a threat i mean keep in mind anyone can make a champion broken if they are good enough. The only real problem is kalista + the fact that Darius can be tanky and still dish out damage -_-

Design # balance.
Basically you're telling a painter to find another job because his assistance is doing poorly at negotiating price.
Yeah, so it means he has everything. I wouldn't call him overpowered, but overloaded like I said before.
where is this confirmed? lol
http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/3aak9r/the_river_king/csb79fb
He may have just been messing with us to be honest
EDIT: my reddit link is showing up weird click on the image and head to the link
A rioter replied to someone asking the question on reddit. There was no /s or Kappa or something similar to hint he was joking.
I presume the fixed passive slot is included in that answer.
I don't think it's too worrying. For example Rek'Sai has her passive slot, ignore unit collision + movement speed while burrowed and some attackspeed on her ult. That's also 3 passives without being over the top.

where is this confirmed? lol
Rioter who designed the champ revealed that champion will have 3 passives slow of some kind but wont have knockup and true damage.
It's obviously just gonna be
Normal Passive Ability (x) and Ability (y) have a passive on them.
nothing new.
next champion 16 passives no actives ,right click only haha
Depending on what the passives were, that might be kinda interesting to see. Total bore to play, though.
Since every champion must be broken
Also confirmed that his Q will be some kind of slow. And no air-born effects, executes or true damage. :P
But no knockups, true damage or executes
so yeah
I'm guessing it'll be 2 passives on Innate, 1 for river and 1 for something else One on some other ability to augment his scaling into the late game, like Rek'Sai R
We started with more than one passive on ASHE of all people (innate + extra gold passive on Hawkshot)
And then she lost a passive in the rework.
I'm just hoping he has some kind of special interaction with Fizz because he looks like a big ol' Catfish sonnova bitch
The champion has no knock-ups, true damage, or execute. So even if he does have 3 passives I hope he's still pretty balanced. The champion in general seems really interesting.
has 1 passive.
Does he have HP% damage? Getting pretty sick of that myself.
He better. This 3 tank meta shit is getting very annoying.

Its probably going to be the default passive has two parts and then an ability has a passive, probably to make people consider leveling it over another slightly more obvious choice.
