"omg why did you pick Zed, he's so bad after nerf"
and this is why everyone is a sheep.
that 1 second will never matter unless a) you are trying to quickly block a ultimate or spell b) tower dive and ult back and Q+E

That delay won't matter to a smart Zed player. I've even heard so from a PBE tester.
But it makes the difference between Zed being a solid champion and Zed being FotM.
That's in part, the point.
The other part is that Zed isn't simply uncatchable with his ult. There's actual risk to using it now (if small), as opposed to being a "get out of Requiem free" card.
How big the actual impact is, I'm not entirely sure. I haven't faced a Zed since the nerf. I played with one though who apparently didn't read patch notes; and flipped sh*t over being killed because of a "bug".
"pbe tester"
you mean a place where 12 yrs old tests a new skin that they cant buy?
No, I'm talking about an actual Zed main. But you can sling ad hominem at a random player whose name I didn't bother to disclose, if it suits your taste.
By any chance, would you be talking about Redmercy?
PBE access is by invite only from Riot, only those serious about testing are allowed on there.

Not true. I've had an account that I made on the first day they opened it up way back when Darius was released. I still have it.
Really? I thought they announced a purging of PBE accounts and restrictions on access awhile back.
I must be misremembering, my bad.
They actually regularly purge accounts. I had one last year, and when I tried to login 2 months ago it said that the account did not exist anymore. I was like "...what?" seeing as I went on and commented on the forums often. I guess I had a break period.
Also like 60% of people on it are not serious. It's rare to see people want to do anything other than test new champions to take them into ranked.
They purge inactive accounts.
I've had my own since I started back when Diana was just brought out. Never lost access and I log in for a few days every new patch to test out the changes. Lots of older players still have their own accounts too. Age of your account, whether you actually test stuff, etc. all take into affect if you get purged.
Pretty much this. If you're actually going in, you're going to be spending enough time dealing damage that the delay won't matter.
Really it just shuts up the people who claim he can ult in, pop right back out, and still deal massive damage. Seriously, anyone that wastes his ult like that deserves to lose.
Everybody is a sheep. Urgot was considered a troll pick, but oh, some guy on the LCS picked him, suddenly everybody's lining up to blow him.
Same w/ Cho, never banned at beginning of season, sees play in LPL and LCS and BAM!
This, so much this. I don't care about the pro scene or FOTM, so imagine my surprise last night when my top lane Jayce proceeded to feed a cho 4 kills in the first 5 minutes and starting bitching about how op he is.
wat....
cho is strong, certainly, i should know because he was one of the first champs i really picked up and did good with when i first got back in to league after i got better internet. But he certainly isnt op. Basically if you pick cho in lane, unless your bad at laning period, you entire goal is to win lane by not dieing and feeding on farm. So, what do you not do against an enemy cho without jungler support at level 2? Do not try to kill him, let alone without a minion advantage. Granted that's common sense, but still. Its definitely not him being op.
You gotta add that Urgot recently got buffed, i mean he has 8% max mana scaling on his shield, which is a huge buff to a champ that almost ALWAYS built
+
.
But you are right, there are so many picks out there that are not considered just because 80% of league community are sheeps that are also afraid to experiment build and follow the meta strictly.
That buff ultimately amounted to a bonus 200 shield power. It's a lot, don't get me wrong, but it alone didn't propel Urgot to LCS darling. And it CERTAINLY didn't adress the issues that people bitched about before he was played by an LCS bigshot.
"Bigshot"
Keane isn't really a "bigshot" but eh, opinions.
Still Urgot was considered a "troll pick", the buffs and this meta are what helped him come to a power point. When this meta dissipates(which it will eventually) he will probably fall out of favor.
Urgot was still considered trash after the buff by the sheep
I'm saying lol because you made me literally lol
I remember how everyone said Kha was total shit when he was released. No one believed me when I told them he was an ideal assassin. A month later there's a tournament and pros are wrecking squishies left and right with him and suddenly everyone says they always knew Kha was that good. Meanwhile, the score of my post explaining the math behind why Kha is good reminded me that these people are full of shit.
Basically, pro emulators will refuse a steak if you give it to them but will eat shit if it's served to them by a pro.

i um. i played kha zix a little while ago and
he honestly felt broken LOL
I've played Kha multiple times recently, and he felt like ass. I wished I were playing Rengar/Nocturne the entire time.

Kha felt like AD Katarina. I killed one person and thus begun a roller coaster of jumps and Q's that got me a quadra kill
will always be AD
Kha has been nerfed since.

Too many fans and wannabe pros. If I follow exactly what a pro does it raises my chance to insane heights of becoming a pro!. I think titles in general work that way and people follow them like newbs. Most people can't think for themselves and just let other people guide their ways and copy things or at least from what I have seen.
and this is why everyone is a sheep.

It doesn't effect him unless he does these common Zed things. This forum is great!
dude, its been proven the majority of the player base are sheep
pick any champ that people consider a troll pick, then some random lcs player picks the same champ for the same role and everyone imitates it like its always been a great pick while forgetting all about how they were calling it a troll pick a min ago
I play champs I find fun and I don't give a damn **** about what the lcs players do
as far as zed is concerned, he's fine as long he doesn't get focused
I can't stand when people call me a troll for trying to play Lucian mid. That shit is broken as fuck. They don't know if it's strong or not. They just know it's not in LCS so it is therefore "bad". It's horseshit

You lack magic damage on your team and most assassins will destroy you, along with highrange mages.
Your teamates are right.
Not when we have a Ryze/Mao/Rumble/Cassio top and Nid jungle. If an AD midlane is so bad then why is Ezreal considered an excellent midlaner? Or Zed? Or Talon? Or ANY OTHER AD ASSASSIN IN THE GAME. I only pick it when we have an AP top lane. I don't it when we have a Fiora/Trynd/Yasuo because then of course that would be too much AD. Too easy to itemize against. I don't just blindly pick it.
My Ahri begs to differ...
Not necessarily sheep. People just like to fabricate facts about things with loose justification in a negative light in order to make themselves feel smarter. It's a bad trend that's been around for almost all of the history of human interaction.
I dont care what you pick even if it was gutted in the most recent patch.
If you still play it, you probably know your shit
Use the damn apostrophe, without it, what you say has a double meaning: you are shit because you play a shitty champion, you are good because you know how to make a champion work even if they are shit.
I almost jumped the gun and was going to give you a hostile and dismissive response and a downvote along with it, before taking a moment to try to realize what you're talking about, to which I compeltely and wholeheartedly agree.
"If you still play it, you probably know your shit" is completely unequivocal. With an apostrophe the meaning of his sentence would change completely. It's pretty clear he means exactly what it says.
I'm a Zed main and I picked Zed in a ranked match as first pick. One of the guys on my team told me not to pick him, cause most in Silver sucked at him. I told him that I'm one of them better Zed players and so I proceeded to go 23/2 and carry the game hard to victory.
But to be honest, I have seen so many bad Zeds, it's actually unreal.
The average Zed player with just 1-5 games with him has a 44% win rate, while Zed players with 125 or more have 55%. Zed is OP if you know how to play him. Don't first pick him in ranked just because people say he's strong.
It does affect him especially against champions like Riven who would immediately W when Zed finish his ult Animation however Zed could avoid this by reactivating ult and avoid her W and then shadow forward and fight her and possibly kill her or bail whatever is most optimal (or just save the shadow if Riven still wants to fight and is chasing Zed)
Though I don't think it really kills him or anything
Zed's swap back quickly all the time. I just saw Mickey do it in G2 of Anarchy vs Najin, LCK Summer Split Week 1 Day 1.
If you ult as Zed, the enemy can often flash/blink you (or have their teammates flash/blink in) to put you in a situation where you risk being cc'd and bursted if you don't swap back immediately.
People love to say dumb shit like "good zeds will only use their ult in X way, this never affects them." Talking in absolutes is dumb as shit, league games are chaotic and shit happens, pretending games play out in exactly X way every time is stupid.
He's still viable due to his mobility but he just simply cannot wwr into team fights anymore.
Meh, just means I get a free charm on Zed if he goes on me. I can actually win the matchup now, it's nice.
He's still viable due to his mobility but he just simply cannot wwr into team fights anymore.
I still really like zed, but talon is my new go-to AD burst assassin. He's just too good right now.
Tbh i liked talon more even before the "nerf" to zed. Now i only play zed the same way i play yasuo, when i want to have a good time :). If i want to win, talon is the guy for the job.
the 1 second will matter. for bad zeds.
they simply raised the skill floor and made it harder for entry level zeds to get out scott free like leblanc. when you press the ult into 3-4 people you should understand the conquences that comes with making that decision. Often times a bad zed player will recklessly use ult, and then just jump away when he realized he fucked up. The new change punishes poor decision making, overall making zed less stressful to deal with, because Unlike leblanc, Mistakes are now punishable.
ban is still worth it if you want to play a squishy champion like
or if you simply don't want to deal with the lane pressure he bring out in mid.
The one second just provides counter play so the other team could MAYBE stun him. Doesn't mean zed is trash, da fauq?
People see nerfs and freak out. The nerf is really minor honestly.
