You should always rush the first Hexcore and upgrade your laser, it just gives way too much of a powerspike. Many go straight into the MK-2, which gives you great utility along with even more stats. You could also go for Morello/Athene or a Sheen or a NLR... the possibilities are endless. Final Build would be something like:
