Do you get those soloQ games?

Ahristocats··66 votes·1,837 views

Those games where you play 5 solo players against 5 solo players...

and there is more teamplay then any dynamic Q games you ever had?

cause that what happened right now, i had an old school soloQ game where everyone communicated. Telling volibear to go help mid against katarina and he listened helping TF to survive while TF helped us all, telling Ashe to build QSS against malz, and she built it. Then in teamfight, oh god in teamfight... there are no words to explain how flawless it was.

i miss soloQ so fucking much...

inb4 all the hyper-casuals flip out over how great Dynamic Queue is and how people who don't like it are dumb, or some other nonsense.

So many Diamond players (and very large portions of the other divisions) agree Dynamic Queue sucks, but the kids throw around "statistics prove people like it" crap regardless. Just because the majority of players are casual and don't really pay attention (or even know what DQ is) doesn't mean they necessarily like it.

Yes and No.

I LOVE what the OP mentioned. The invisible, unspoken synergy between random players you just met. But that being said, I also like DQ because I already have synergy with my friends.

I like playing both solo and with my friends. thats why i like DQ, I can do either ^^

Cheers just my 2 cents !

cope moment5 votes

i agree with the synergy with the friends thing, but isn't that what normals are for?

redfeenix5 votes

Well personally, I just use normals to really fuck around. I always try new champs and strats and weird item builds. I dont play normals to win. I play to enjoy and have fun.

In ranked I play to win. I pick me best champs and try to go HAM and carry. There is a huge difference (for me) between normals and ranked. In normals I really fuck around and dont care about winning. In Ranked I try hard , pick meta champs, and do my best to win.

I know some players like to trihard during normals too, but I dont.

I like to enjoy both types of games solo and with my friends.

Cheers !

Normal queue and ranked has the same level of competitiveness this season. Literally the only difference is you get to see your elo with DQ. Next time you're in a ranked game pretend it's a normal game and the next time you play a normal game pretend that it's ranked and you'll see what I mean.

SMHjustSMH2 votes

IMO, normals are for practice and when you want to play Rift w/o the stress of having to win a ranked match

i agree, but the thing is, isn't ranked game a competitive mode? i can't see the challenge if you already know every players. cause i remember games like this watching doublelift https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7jVg7m_VYQ trying to win in soloQ while having troubles with other soloQ players cause he was losing...

for this reason it was really hard to get 1900 elo in season 2. my opinion though.

Well said! I agree 100%

A Majority is still a Majority. Deal with it.

I was originally going to post something really in-depth to explain why what you said is absurd and fallacious, but I realized all my efforts would be lost on you.

So instead, here's something a bit more blunt:

I've already made a few guesses as to what your response will be. Prove me right.

Casual player here: I would prefer soloQ, but I started S6 so I haven't had a chance to try it. But I will say that I avoid ranked because of the DQ.

SergeantScuttler1 votes

Even if they did, should the most competitive game mode cater to them? I wouldn't want surgery to be done by voting what part of the body to cut either so why should the people least interested and capable of evaluating a ranked system dictate how it works?

community:we want a solo q riot:only a vocal minority wants solo q community:then keep dq just add a solo queue riot:but that would destroy the queue times since everyone will be playing solo queue [zombie-nunu-bummed]

Best princess EU11 votes

but don't worry op, cause according to riot and all dq fans, you can't have fun by playing with solo players, cause they never listen to you.

I have had many games with 5 solos vs. 5 solos. Almost none of them had any teamplay and everyone played for themselves -- just like the last two seasons I played. I'd love to be in these games your talking about.

just like the last two seasons I played.

i forgot to mention this part.

Mr Fidori4 votes

That's my point though. In every season of this game I've played, it's always been every man for himself. The only time there was usually any cooperation was when I duo'd. And that's still the case now honestly. All solos vs. solos for me have always just been clown fiestas of who gets the most kills.

"dynamic queue introduced teamplay"

repeating the same strategy over and over again with premades instead of fitting with 4 others strangers.

Elikain5 votes

If you think about it, there was never a solo queue to begin with. League is a 5v5 team game and the only real difference between SQ and DQ is in the ability to choose your teammates.

In SQ, it was random and you could have a premade with a buddy. In DQ, it's not random if you want to premade with up to 4 people or play solo and randomly get assigned teammates. DQ is a lot more flexible than SQ.

Sona x Rubick1 votes

if you played, you would have known that games with duoQ where like 25% of the time, unlike now.

Elikain1 votes

I played this season. I reached Diamond this season as a solo player. Unless someone announces they are a premade group or else i see the same club tags, i don't distinguish them from solo players.

There was such a thing in SQ, where teams stomped each other or games where you played equally to the last player. And i think it's pretty convenient for people right now, whenever there's a situation like this, to blame it on DQ and call it unfair. If matchmaking is unfair, then it's simply a continuation from the SQ matchmaking and needs to be fixed. Otherwise, it's just a convenient scapegoat for people to pin all their ranked problems on.

Just my 2 cents.

"dynamic q... team play... bullshit" -Riot

Actual Dynamic Q meaning: Pair solo players with premades so shitty boosted premades have someone to blame for trying to 1v3 at 10 minutes 0/5

Elikain5 votes

The problem with DQ is not that there's no synergy. The problem are the players who think everyone is a boosted animal and that they're in a toxic as shit premade, that they refuse to communicate at all.

Those people have a shitty mindset and are only looking for one shred of "evidence" to fall into confirmation bias, where they literally accuse everyone of sucking and how they're superior players and whatnot, only to be the prime example of being the cause of their team's downfall.

I understand what you are saying OP but this wasn't the feature of SQ at all. It's that one random opportunity where like minds get together, where you don't need ultra communication skills to convey what you want to do, the team moves and does as one. I love these games. I love the games where everyone tries their best to play their best, regardless of the outcome.

The first part happens still. The other one not so much as people get tilted from this and start dragging the team down.

Meta Phyton1 votes

Yeah eh? Sometimes it's a golden moment, when a few people who aren't egotists manage to find each other by a blow of fate, and those moments of teamwork where no one is an egotist trying to promote his own individual image inside of a team-oriented experience feel like magic. It's probably nothing to do with solo queue or dynamic queue because both attract egotists and both attract a few modest folks. Modesty's gotta be the real might there, what made the magic happen. It's just great when people are really modest.

Elikain1 votes

Truth to be told, modesty is golden. One should really know their worth and what they excel and suck at - that's completely OK. You can be outplayed by a better or worse player than you but the whole point is how you take that.

  1. You can be an ass about the whole situation and blame someone else
  2. You can take pride in knowing you fought a better player and learned from the experience and also learned from experience when a worse player whooped your ass. He reminded you of the basics that you were lacking in.

You really don't have to see eye to eye with everyone and be all buddy-buddy but it should never escalate to the point of you two ruining the chances of victory for other 3 people. That is just a damn shame.

warpenguin5554 votes

yeah that feels good. love those games where its not just a massive premade stomping or flaming everybody

DeathBurst3 votes

This is not happening THANKS to SoloQ, it's happening DESPITE SoloQ, and it should happen much more often and much more easily in DynQ. If that's what you like about League, you should be happy about DynQ, not salty...

Badgrz3 votes

I've been playing since S3 now and can safely say I could honestly care less for dynamic queue as I don't normally play in groups. What I DO find disconcerting (and I REALLY hope Riot pays attention to this point despite it being on a flame thread) after playing in plat+ for 3 seasons is how absolutely brain dead plat players are this season. S4 and S5 were MOUNTAINS above this season competition-wise due to lack of accountability for dynamic queue groups. I stated this at the beginning of the season and I still stick to it: dynamic queue players should NOT receive the same MMR gains as you normally would in a SoloQ environment. Is this stupid crest-preference crap you added going to fix anything? Absolutely not.

I've played my fair share of plat and diamond games this season (never about D4 though, so can't speak for anybody higher) and it is safe to assume that plat and low diamond play is substantially less competitive than any other season I've played. This isn't the players' faults though, they're merely grinding out free wins due to the exploitative nature of the current MMR system. The real issue is the fact that LP gains and MMR scaling remains the same for those who abuse the current system.

Will it ever get fixed? It could, but it won't as long as the playerbase moves in the direction it is going. I can't count how many games I've played where people just don't understand the basic concepts of game design. Let me reiterate for those who seem to have forgotten- THIS IS A FREE GAME. What that implies is the company who made this game is going to be motivated, first and foremost, by what you guys pay for. You blindly throw your money at their skin sales, etc etc whatever else they add to that store and forget that YOU, THE PAYING CUSTOMER, have the most say in the outcome of this game. You whine and you whine and you whine on these boards to bring back aspects of the game that made it so great, yet you get distracted by "that new cool champion" or "that sweet skin that just went half off!" and throw your money at Riot, motivating them to spend time making MORE skins and MORE champions and less time on fixing things that really should be first priotity (client bugs, game mechanics, etc)

I REALLY hope you, as players, start understanding this concept as it applies to the real world, too.

Tl;dr- You want Riot to fix their shit? You speak louder with your wallet than you do your words.

Edit- fixing things my not-sober ass misspelled, grammar, etc

Usually I hate playing ADC without a buddy because I feel like I can never rely on my support, but yesterday i played two games with a random Ali and Morgana who protected my ass and i had 3 kills before leaving lane on Kog'Maw. Easy wins with supports I didn't even know

Ranked 5s is the most fun I have had in League in a long time, as long as you play with people you know well.

Ranked 5s feels competitive, playing 5 man premades is a stomp one way or the other though.

LOL what because some people like being able to get the role they want? sure I played back in season 3-4-5-6. if you miss SQ because you feel DQ comprimises the integrity of ranked that's fine that's your opinion which I whole heartedly disagree with. On the subject of ranked DQ however most people that bring this up say its difficult to climb now, which again I very much disagree with considering I'm climbing with few issues, based off my experiences is why I disagree. I don't know why people feel that since they dislike a change made like 6 months ago that everyone has to agree and anyone who doesn't is a one trick or a noob etc whatever. get real

chipndip11 votes

This whole solo play romanticization needs to stop. I get it, but can we stop acting like people are all of a sudden 5 tiers better than they ever were just because they're solo?

Rengar Top Lane1 votes

Not really. Games I've had solo are usually me being thrown in a group of 3 or 4.

SergeantScuttler1 votes

SoloQ wins generally feel more satisfying to me and the old system made more sense from a competitive standpoint.

Only Play Darius1 votes

Back in the days of soloQ, seeing players come together to communicate and make plays was beautiful. Now it's bullshit, the experience has been cheapened as nearly every game has a 3-man premade (and if you're solo you're left out)

SMHjustSMH1 votes

I don't think that has anything to do with which type of queue it was; you just got some really awesome teammates!
