About Corki

While I like this champion overall, I've found him to be extremely lacking in some departments. ADC's are in a sense supposed to be the anti-tanks of this game, keep them alive and they will eventually shred through the opposing tanks.

This is where I feel that Corki fails entirely, despite the armor shred on his E, that does wonders in lane early.

While most ADC's has a somewhat varied buildpath, Corki is pretty much the only one that is utterly dependat on building trinity first. His kit has such weak sustained damage that his burst must be emphesized to implement his strenghts, I find this detrimental as it shows a huge flaw in Corki as a marksman.

I have no complaints with his early game, but for a so called hypercarry, he sure scales horribly. He is excellent at bursting squishy targets, but utterly horrible vs Teams with a thick frontline, he is utterly dependant on his cooldowns and once all skills are spent his dueling/teamfighting power drops to 0, unlike pretty much every other ADC who is at their strongest when most skills have been spent, given they've survived that long.

Alas Corki is bad atm, I find his early fighting power to be excellent but his scaling vs any team with a front line horrible. You literally have to snowball with him or you will find yourself outscaled before long, which is also kind of anti adc.

Am I the only one who feels this way about him? Is this a bad analysis or might I be on to something?

Corki has never been classed as a hyper carry or particularly good at getting through tanks. Do to the vast majority of magic damage in his kit he can get through traditional tank armor stats but fails hard at getting through any mr the enemy tanks may get against him. Corki can't duel or carry late game against champs such as a tristana or vayne; but he still has very strong early to mid game.

With other words there is no point in picking him?

Thunderlords makes his early great, his E makes thunderlords ridiculously easy to proc, but come late when you're little more than a glorified pokebot, it does nothing for u. Deathfire is barely noticeable regardless of what stage of the game and no other masteries are even remotely viable.

Allright, then I know, I love this champ but he just seems useless to me. He's incredibly hard to carry with considering the current way games go. He's one of the harder adc's to play, being almost entirely skillshot based, but get's just about 0 for the effort so I guess I'm letting him go.

Edit: I am quite sure I've heard Corkin being mentioned as a hypercarry many times by LoL casters, but then again, maybe they lack gameknowledge? One thing is sure, he was a hell of a lot more of a hypercarry before Riot decided to relocate alot of his powerbudget to Valkyrie, which I find to be utterly detrimental.

Also, while his early is good, there are alot of ADC's that both have a better early and scale alot better, the current Lucian and MF would probably be prime examples. So yeah, just drop him right?

Um, do we not favor Snowballing in the current meta? Why would anyone pick a hypercarry if they need time to scale?

Corki has plenty of niche roles. For starters, He's mix damage, which makes it harder to itemize against him. Of coarse that's also why we doesn't scale late, because he would need both forms of penetration. Yet this can still be a good niche if the rest of your team drafted an AD comp.

Secondly, with the addition of his new package, He now has a ton of utility and mobility to work with.

Most hypercarries aren't great right now since the games tend to be decided earlier.

Corki isn't a hyper carry because he lacks any attack speed steroid or any scaling auto range, like tristana and jinx. However, Corki still has very high burst and poke damage between his Q and R which makes him a very solid ADC; coupled with his new package and W for escape or engage he,in my opinion, is more reliable of a laner then a lucian or mf.

And his armor shred sucks too.

Corki is amazing for synergizing with your team 1 E and your teammates will obliterate that target, not to mention his heavy damage with chaining those ulti->AAs off and corki's package while being bad can still be used for getting back to a fight faster and if the enemy team runs you can actually use it to catch up to the runner(I still see no reason to activate it unless you're just that godly and snowballing but the passive homeguard is amazing)
