I feel guilty.

For actually enjoying DQ and S6 to more than I feel I should given how many people are mad at the state of the game. Especially as a solo player.

I'm not gonna say the game is perfect, but the major issus that used to pester me feel as though they have been dealth with. I don't know how your past experiences were, but for me, season 4-5 were a nightmare, leavers, trolls, afks just about every third game, believe me when I say I'm not exagarating, it was extremely rare for me to go 4 games without a leaver.

Thus, I would almost end every session on the verge of tears knowing I should be climbing but not being able to out of shere bad luck, even those games that seemed to be going well would end up in a loss just because someone disconnected or decided it was time to troll.

That is not to say we don't have leavers and trolls today, but by comparision, it's like night and day, at least in my Q.

So I really think people should cut Riot some slack, they've done a great job reducing the toxicity that spread from getting gimped by things out of ones control. Balance was and has always been an issue, I truely believe they are trying to keep the game somewhat balanced without the meta getting too stale.

Am I the only one who feels this way or does just about everyone hate S6?

Gameplay-wise, the game did go downhill, mostly balance-wise, but community-wise it did indeed become a lot less toxic especially in ranked. Don't know how to look at it, but it's a lot more casual to play now since you know it's not gonna last more than 30 mins most of the time.

I have no clue what you're talking about. I have yet to play a game that isn't toxic in months. I have yet to play a game that doesn't have a troll, feeder, or leaver, in months. I just lost a 4v5 in ranked, mind you the AFK was on the other team, because our team was so toxic to each other. So yeah, what you're experiencing in terms of a community, I'm getting none of that.

The balance problems I'm getting in full swing.

I've honestly gotten much less toxicity because I see people just complaining and blaming the game where last season they were blaming each other. The frustration and toxicity is still there, but I'm seeing people be less likely to aim it at each other.

The balance and "health" of the game I feel is terrible right now, and it certainly isn't very fun.

No, I get what you're saying, but I have yet to see any toxicity directed at Rito, and not myself.

It feels like people are being a lot more lenient with others because so many people are frustrated with the actual game. People are also so busy being frustrated at this game that they don't have as much time to be mad at other players. You die and have a 60 second death timer, you don't get mad at people, you get mad at Riot. A fed master Yi jumps your team, you aren't annoyed at your team, you are pissed at the item balance.

I truly think people being so frustrated with season 6 is making them focus that frustration they usually have on Riot and the game where they usually aim it at their teammates. For better or worse, it is making people less toxic towards their teammates.

once they fix devourer+rageblade and tank fiora this game will be pretty balanced. i absolutely despised season 5, too tanky.

But does that mean you're pretty happy with the state of S6 overall?

To be honest, I kind of opted out of season 5. I just got fed up with the constant 4v5 scenario so I don't really have too much of a recollection of it. I think season 4 was pretty good, but the toxicity and constant leavers made it a horrible experience for me, season 5 didn't really change that experience much so I just quit for like half a year, missing out on most of it.

Ruin Lance4 votes

overall, no, i'm not happy with season 6. i mean, it's enjoyable, as long as i don't have a broken devourer fighter or any other fotm champion running around in it. i honestly don't have to deal with toxic people that much, mostly because i've been on a good win streak where i carry so my team doesn't flame me. i think you're right though, the toxicity definitely isn't there as much as it was in season 5. i didn't play in season 4 though, save for 2 bot games where i was playing for the first time. i didn't like it though, probably cause i was playing taric and built dfg lol.

Yeah man i feel your pain, s4 and s5 were absolute cancer, but since teambuilder and then dynamic queue was introduced i rarely see a troll because everyone gets their roles etc at most you'll see flaming at least in my case, and yeah riot did an awesome job at reducing trolls but toxic people are really out of their control.

Agreed. That's why I mute whenever I make a mistake, since I know teammates will rage, then when I manage to set my team back ahead I'll generally unmute since I know they will have calmed down by then. Shouldn't have to be like that, but you do whatever works right? ^^

As someone who played since pre season 1, I think 3 and 4 were easily the best seasons. 5 was not the best, I will agree, and easily the worst up until season 6. Season 6 just took a big crap on what I loved about LoL (from the opinion of someone who has been around since 2010).

Season 5 went downhill hard from season 4, but I'd take any point of season 5 over this mess that still feels like preseason fixing and testing almost half way through the season already.

I know exactly what you mean i've been playing since the game came out of beta like 2 months later and S1 and S2 were easily the best because no one gave a fuck were anyone went, there was no 'meta' and you coulda played what ever the fuck you wanted and no one woulda said anything about it. I don't think the game is garbage right now, for me S5 was easily the worst in fact i played 2 months after the reset happened and after that the game was so trash i just couldn't pick it up at all, i just played from time to time so my LP didn't decay, and waited until it started being good again, and that's when teambuilder was introduced and that changed everything, but anyway getting sidetracked here, my point is that s6 is still enjoyable for me even if at times it makes me want to kill myself :D.

Hey you enjoy what you enjoy. I think this is a terrible season since preseason, as we are 1 week left of the regular season and it STILL feels like we are in the preseason with the crap that still needs to be fixed...but again, you like what you like.

I might not agree with your opinion, but it is still your opinion. My opinion is that I look back at all the previous seasons I liked, and even the parts of the previous Metas that frustrated me, then I look at this one, and I just can't understand what Riot is thinking. I am tired of seeing them change for the sake of change, and not to keep the game from going stale, but just because they like changing 700 things during the preseason because "reasons". Ranked queues needed to be fix but the way they did it way meh, lots of items needed to be fixed, but they destroyed balance with all the item changes more than anything else. Masteries needed work, and they just made that a mess as well that they are still balancing (again it feels like preseason because it is march and we are still seeing preseason level balance changes to items/champs/masteries).

If you enjoy the current state though, then good on you, play and ignore the criticism. I mean, riot is doing a pretty good job of plugging their ears and ignoring the problems and criticism right now.

Actually, there are things that I object to in the current season, the fact that carrying alone is so damn hard (especially as a solo player), that comps matter more than skill, that the game is more teamgame orientation etc. But I do feel the reduction in leavers has made the game more worth my time, losing a game in champ select feels pretty bad. Losing a game because someone decided they had better things to do is as tilt-inducing as it gets imo.

As I stated, the game is pretty far from perfect, but I do believe Riot deserves credit where it is due.

Who doesn't enjoy Dairy Queen?

Jokes aside I'm sure we all know S6 is much healthier than previous seasons and there are still tons of high points i have when playing. People overexaggerate the low moments but some claims to previous seasons being more fun are justified. It was definitely fun playing AP Yi and menacing the Rift--but unhealthy fun gameplay can be sacrificed for healthy fun. It's just that... Yi was a serious ton of unhealthy fun.

S6 is the only sesson that has made me question quitting. Yet its the only one that has truly challanged me. Now I'm actually seeing how bad I am, and how misinformed I can be. It promotes self improvement. S6 has its pros and cons.

I agree man, i haven't felt the huge complaints of Dynamic queue, and don't really mind the meta at all. Ever since like 2 patches ago, i don't have many issues with champs at all, and the few i do have issues with i can ban out early on. I didn't care for season 5 but didn't mind it either. I loved season 4, probably because i finally got decent at the game and my main (hi Khazix ) was quite strong most of the time

Tohob1 votes

you don't need to feel guilty, people on the boards are known to be grumpy idiots. the game could be absolutely perfect and people would still find something dumb to complain about (that would probably destroy the game if their complaints were listened to)

WadeWilson13371 votes

I disagree. The game has only gotten more toxic each month after the Juggernaut Patch. I feel like alot of people dont trust Riot to make the game in a healthy state after that and it is causing frustration amongst many people, likely being a reason that i have to report or mute someone every, single, game. As for afks i cant say much, but in general toxicity is getting absurd atleast in my games.

so u were rdy to cry after every game for the past few years, but now that YOU are not personally experiencing this pain, but other people are, u think riot should be given some slack? did u feel the same way when u were rdy to cry after every game?

the toxicity isnt gone, for whatever reason u just are not experiencing it in the same way.... toxicity is still rampant... i mean, this game is known in pop culture as toxic as fuck....

thats not a good reputation to have

glade ur having a better time though, this game can be a lot of fun

I said session, not game, and yes, when I went 10 games with 4 leavers or even worse, had 3-5 games in a row with leavers indeed I felt really damn frustrated, promos were a nighmare and I literally never made it to plat despite going for promos like 10 times, each and every times it felt as though I had to win 3/3 not 3/5 because of the frequent leavers, which was abysmall considering one would almost always reach it on a winstreak and thus have the system pile the odds against you.

I don't get those leaver streaks anymore, in fact, I haven't had 2 leavers in a row since season started and I've played more than 300 games, heck I can even count all the times someone has left my games on two hands, and that's including the opposing team.

To me, most games are salvagable, at least to a degree, even in this snowball meta. And thus, I win a hell of alot more than I did S4-S5, by simply having all teammates present.

I never said the toxicity is gone, but there seems like there is alot less of it.

I can indeed, otherwise we wouldn't play it. :)

All that said, some things still feel BS with the game, that's why bans are so guud, now if we can just increase it to 4 bans outside of competitive, oh lord, merry X-mas for life. <3

I cant forgive season 6 for these que times and conditions, the new system was introduced with some big fatal flaws such as the possible hours spent in que only to get another dodge at the last second because somebody wasnt paying attention and forgot to lock in. Though these problems have been touched upon, this season was met with some pretty shitty pre-game experiences.
