Back in the old days, when I used to main 
, I really enjoyed playing 
as a support because I felt he had a lot to offer the support role in damage and tankiness. However I hardly ever see him anymore, despite little changes, not even as a jungler or top laner so why is Volibear considered so trash now? He can build AD and AP so I can't see why he's not played more?
Firstly Volibear is a massive beast this season. Building ad is alright but its not the way volibear is meant for. This season has bearly started.... (:P) and I already have a penta with him.
I have played him in the mid, top, bot, and jungle... Why you ask? Because Lighting cares not what it strikes just it brings the thunder after it.
Top and mid lane are pretty much the same in regard. (Sidenote: In the mid lane I normally take him verses assassins) My build goes:

I wanna know how you've been avoiding him. He's been in the majority of my matches the past several days, because he's currently faceroll-tier. Assassin level damage with no cooldowns on a highly mobile tank wit two health bars is pretty insane.
When isn't Volibear good? I personally see him as a hidden treasure trove. Not many people know about him for some reason but he is always good when I see him. He just has the perfect kit that no matter what happens in the game, he can do something game changing.
