Why not make Doran's Ring and Sword adaptable?

Doran's Ring can be used on plenty of AD champions as is, but I think making the damage adaptable would make it a good pick on many more and it would open up diversity in lanes.

Doran's Sword could be good on AP champions if it went back to health on hit instead of lifesteal and gave adaptable damage instead of just AD.
