massive delays in game

alright so i was playing a game, and for a good 38 of the 40 minutes i had MASSIVE delays. not actual lag. because enemies still moved, i still walked and did damage, but my skills wouldn't animate, enemy skills wouldn't animate, and neither would auto attacks. so i'd be losing percentages of my health without anyone actually looking like they attacked me. they would be in the range to justify that attack, but i wouldn't see projectiles, skills, nor would i get notified that kills happened until MINUTES after the fact. i could still talk with my team and maintain communication with them too.

an example of it was when i was in a teamfight at mid. i could use my abilities, do damage, and would visibly see enemy healthbars dropping, but they would just stand stationary after being killed for about 2 minutes. then 2 minutes later suddenly im hit with a dragon buff, 5 announcements of deaths and the eventual ace announcement, and saw my back animation just start even though i was already in my shop. this didn't start occuring until the patch dropped TODAY.

ive been having this since the patch last night/this morning. it seems really weird because ping and fps are normal and while i will have lag spikes now and then this type of delay happens when everything is all fine! it just comes out of nowhere!

That sounds like packet loss.

http://logsoflag.com/ should help you troubleshoot it.

70 packets total lost 1.6 packets lost per min 87 median ping

how bad is that?

You can submit the link to the report, it doesn't disclose any sensitive data.

If the packet loss is spread across the entire game, it's not too bad. Example. If you get spikes of 15-20 packets lost at a time, it's enough to desync you. Like this or even worse.

It's actually worse than a disconnect, because it doesn't try to instantly resync. So you're stuck in a 2-5 sec limbo where the game tries to catch up.
