Ivern, the Green Father Question

We've seen his abilities now and his Passive that allows him to take camps without killing them is interesting but worrying, he clears camps very quickly it seems and he doesn't even need smite to do it, this is all fine and dandy but this means he's a jungler who doesn't technically need to take smite at all and that's a bit worrysome. The rest of his kit seems to be pretty okay though and not to broken but still not having to take smite is very weird and i wanted to ask riot about their thoughts on it.

I'm not a Riot member, but he still needs smite obviously to smite dragon and baron.

Also, his DPS output is much lower than almost any other jungler. Outside of his ultimate, his most reliable damage seems to be root and throw down a bush on top of the person and auto them in the bush cause he does more damage in a brush than anything else.

Looks like he can always start at one of the enemies camps and start gaining XP/buffs. That's OP but I don't see anything to worry about for now, we will see when he gets played on PBE today.

Yes but his Q let's allies dash to the struck enemy, meaning not only can he do it but an ally could too and it does the same amount of damage as lux's Q does i believe(but we don't know his scaling) i think his E can only be cast on allies which is good since we do need a good support champ, haven't got one all year. And i think it would be a cool off meta thing to play On-Hit Ivern with Wit's End and Nashor's tooth xD Probs wouldn't be strong but it would be hella funny.

If he doesn't take smite then no jungle item. Which means no bonus exp which means he will be under leveled. I wouldn't worry about smiteless ivern too much

I actually forgot about the bonus XP, maybe they made it so he only gets the base XP so he actually does need smite to get the full, if so then your right but if not i could totally see him taking Teleport or something and being pretty scary.

I'm pretty sure there will be some Korean strat where they play ivern support but he occasionally takes camps. A support with red buff isn't very threatening but it's better than a support without red buff
