I'm tired of HAVING to build redemption/locket every game.

Fuck those items man. You literally need to always build it, because the enemy support will have it for sure and if you don't, you're gonna lose a teamfight. Before these dumbass items, I could build athenes first if they had an ap supp, I could've gone ardent first if we're winning or I have an AA based adc and so on. Now I always fucking have to build redemption/locket and I'm sooooooooooo tired of it. The game is over by the time I complete those items, so I always just build this shit. I'd like to be able to build situational, not just redemption/locket redemption/locket redemption/locket redemption/locket redemption/locket redemption/locket redemption/locket redemption/locket every single game.

But they're "more interactive" because you have to press a button to use them!

I only get them if my kit synergizes with the actives/stats though. Only get redemption if I have a lot of sustain and lockdown, and only get locket if I expect to be directly next to the champions that the enemy is targeting. Yes the actives are REALLY powerful, but if you can't expect to play around their weaknesses, there's no reason to have them.

item 3222 is usually after redemption for me on champs like soraka, because it just offers way more than locket specifically on soraka. and a cleanse of a cc can be far more impactful than a shield sometimes.

I feel Riot was well intentioned with Redemption, but they failed. The item will either be good enough that it's a must-rush, or so terrible no one buys it. I don't know that it will be possible to make it situational. I would go so far as to say I think the item will be removed by this time next season. Locket does seem too strong as well. I think the issue with giving an item a shielding active, is that shields are one of the single most coveted mechanics in the game. They'll always be strong. They ignore greivious wounds, and keep squishees alive. I wonder if shields need to be looked at. I'm not an expert on support, but I've noticed this issue too. Regardless of what support you're playing, the items are must buys.
