Caster-type support

We should get a new one. The last two were tanks. Nami, Sona, and Janna are healthy and it would be cool to see more of their type of champion.

Sona should get reworked (again), because her last rework essentially turned her into a weaker Nami and pretty much obliterated any strategic difference from picking 1 over the other.

I mean: Sona's passive gives her a Sheen effect that's useful levels 1~6 and she gives an HP shield, but otherwise Nami does everything better with higher bases and higher base stats, better mana effeciency, roaming potential, and itemization options: just a slower wind-up time. The fact Nami's buffs are more long-lasting and persistent than Sona's "aura's" is also kind of BS.

I AM SAYING

I guess Bard isn't a Caster type then.

But I would think it would be more constructive to brainstorm spells and mechanics, if you really want to see another caster support.

You know what'd I like to see? A support that isn't a caster or a tank. That'd be something.

Trust me, anyone who can Auto Attack is already in a lane. The only support I could think of that isn't a caster or a tank. (at least I don't consider him one.) is thresh. He's not a spell slinger, nor does he have too many defensive mechanics. But in a way, a mix of everything.

What about Kayle?

Like I say, anyone who can auto is already a laner. This isn't to say find these off picks or off builds, but your never going to find a support that all about auto attacking.

Also, if your are playing Kayle support, your going to be building her way more caster than you would in lane. you'd need to bolster her Slow, her Heal, and just getting all her spells on shorter cooldowns.

I don't mean all about autos. I guess when I say caster, I mean Mage. I would like to see more non-Mage supports that aren't tanks.

Well, if they're not a mage and they're not a tank, then what do they do? They obviously can't be an assassin or a marksman, because it takes gold to do tons of damage (mage supports fall off pretty hard in damage in mid game and beyond, the ones that are viable have good CC or utility).

Thresh and Taric are actually support/fighters.

Thresh is only in that category because early game he has next to no armor. Don't even bring Taric up in a real discussion. He's about to be reworked and he's the worst support (that is actually meant to be a support) currently in the game.

And that would be accomplished by what sort of kit exactly?

Front line buffing?

Nashor's boosts her Heal, gives CDR and increases her AS. It's a solid buy, even as a Support.

Considering that they gave him the armor buff granted to tanks when they nerfed armor items, I guess Riot considers him a tank [slayer-jinx-unamused]

I don't consider Bard to be a caster type. You have to set up his healing in advance and he's better being beefy because he only has one form of CC, which is also conditional in its cast.

Ashe support opieop

Let's make a squishy melee support with support like CC. That's pretty much the only thing you can do differently, and it would probably go super poorly .

Ralanr1 votes

So no such thing as a fighter support then?

Wtf is Kayle then?

Partholonian1 votes

Generally not a support at all, but when she does support it's pretty mage-ish, isn't it? I mean, do you see her going into melee range to trade? She may not be ranged all the time, but she pretty much only harasses as ranged.
