I used to main Shyvana Top back in Seasons 3-5 and stopped playing her top around Early/Mid season 6. Though I really do want to pick her back up again since she is one of my favorite champions and still my 3rd most played champion even after almost not touching her much the past year or so. I could give you tips on how she used to be played but with her mini-rework and all the item changes and meta changes that has happened the past 1-2 years, things has changed quite a bit and my tips would be mostly based on how I "would" play her top lane nowadays.
Runes I would go Some AD, Armor and Attack speed runes. As for Keystone that one is really up to preference. The 2 most common ones that you would want to use on Shyvana would be either Fervor or Grasp but some times I would run Stormraider's and grab Ghost but that really depends on the match up and team comps.
The way I'd build her now would be
Though with the changes to
I could see that being another good option for her. I know T-force isn't as common on her but I just feel that it offers so much and she benefits very well with almost everything on it. As for Titanic, you could replace that for Blade of the ruined king or
. I just feel that Shyvana needs to build at least 2 offensive (2 Offensive + Defensive items like Titanic or Black Cleaver as examples are fine to) so that it makes her hard to ignore which is why I'd go T-force and Titanic.
Honestly the only real problem with Shyvana top is the match-ups and the meta. She used to do very well and destroy tank based top laners which back when she was a meta top laner, was very common. Back then the top lane was nothing but Shyvana, Renekton and mostly heavy tank champions. Now that the heavy tanks can use Courage, it gives them an advantage and makes the match-ups hard for Shyvana when she used to be able to destroy them. Add that to the ranged champions that make her life hell that you see top lane, especially
where if you are facing him you might as well afk for the first 20 mins of the game. Thats why she is usually in the jungle than top lane since her match-ups are usually bad and she can slowly out-scale her opponent as a jungler and gives great dragon control threat. If you want to play her top lane then you might want to do what I do and wait until you see who their opponent picks first.
Tforce is only good against squishies, if you want damage against tankier targets Botrk or FM for stick is better, or PD/Wits End. It is really good against squishies though.
My experience with Shyv top is that your early game is quite powerful (not as good as a Renekton's, but definitely decent) if, and only if, they engage onto you. The rest of the lane is a push lane - TItanic rush, push the wave, trade a few hits if you'll win the trade, if not, just run. Poke with Fireballs.
I've once caused an Illaoi to ragequit with this, I'm sad to say.
