The the new coin interests me

I like the idea of the new coin in the way that the explanation for it is a little deceptive. Riot said they wanted the quests to encourage supports to do things they already want to do, but the design for the coin, considering the champions who usually buy it, seems to actually have been intended to do the opposite.

Dagger is for aggressive ranged champions that want to harass, Shield is for melees to stand in the wave and distract for their adc while helping them cs, coin however was for the passive types who just stand back and protect their adc with supportive utility and they (especially Soraka) were creating very boring lane phases of "my adc stands at max range of the wave while I stand at max range of the adc, making conflict of any kind in the lane virtually impossible."

New coin seems to be the devs clearly saying "Stop it Soraka, you actually have to play the game now."

I've always bought fqq on soraka. It's Janna who has to really play the game now.

Ive been saying the same thing. Not to say Soraka never was encouraged to play the game before, but she cant get away with just sitting back and healing off of Favor regen while healing anymore without outright forcing her to be aggressive.

An aggressive Soraka is a dead Soraka.

Not every support should be forced to be aggressive in order to be successful. Contrary to what most of low elo believes, constantly trying to kill people isn't the only way to "actually" play the game.

The reward also will be higher than the rest of the items, as the champs that are going to buy it have to take more risk than they want to. Im guessing it will be higher than current coin bonuses(5g every other coin for risking death is not much). Not to mention you only get gold every other coin picked up.

I don't know about you but the new coin will only lead me to play with item 3303 , it will grant me the move-speed I need if I need to run and I can still play relatively safe with it. I think they are moving the coin more toward aggressive supports like: Alistar , Thresh , and Leona since it will allow really early aggressive moves. I find the supports who took it before will just change to Spell Thief.
