Tanks Need to Belong Somewhere In This Game.

Tanks throughout League of Legends have been changed and altered and basically lost almost all of their identity once true damage and penetration items started getting buffed. For the past three seasons League of Legends players have been watching the patch notes come out and have continually been waiting for Riot to fix the problem with the slow but sure damage creep staring with season 7. We are in season 9 and tanks like Ornn and Sej and Zac have been getting changes and reworks and even reverts of the rework Zac only to see that they are becoming more useless or more unbearable. Once Riot acknowledges that tanks should really be beefy supports with better CC and better durability with only very low to somewhat low damage then tanks will be a healthy state for the roles in League of Legends. In my opinion Tanks should not be able to 1v1 anyone in the top lane and shouldn't be able to out clear the jungle with the most recent Cinderhulk buff to minions and monstersitem 1413 . I believe and I would assume most pro players and casual players would agree that tanks are the most healthy once put into roles that suit their kits. This being in the role of Support and jungle. It is by far the best ways to balance tanks for the roles in League of Legends because the ultimate goal of a tank is to deal meaningful CC with a decent amount of durability. Once Tanks are stripped of their hidden damage or blatant over scaling of base ability damage then Riot can come up with new forms of CC for better team fights and more enjoyable lanning phase mini game CC mechanics. Jungle is a crucial role for Ranked games in League of Legends and if Tanks could assist their team for secure gold with their powerful CC and not so amazing clear it would open up a new front of strategy. Should I stay and try to clear for late or mid game or should I use my decent or powerful CC to influence my allies lanes for a possible early game victory. As a Support it would be good to try and make their CC less impactful early and make their durability more of a deciding factor. Once these two options are considered you have Bruisers in the top lane who wont have to worry about getting killed by the tanks of today and the bot lane will be filled with enchanters or tanks or battle mages with their respective ADCs and the mid lane will be filled with Assassins and mages or even bruisers and jungle can be a jack of all trades depending on the team comp. We will always have inevitable damage creep as long as tanks are seen as 1v1 material in Riots eyes because its either tanks die too quickly or Tanks kill too quickly with too much durability. You cannot have both. Just make the decision Riot.

It's not just tanks, but literally any champion that depends on defensive itemization actually being strong to function. Nerfing all penetration items would be a good start toward letting these champions actually feel rewarding to play.

The problem with fixing tanks is if you buff them too much, it becomes tank meta, where we get picks like Sion mid. Overall the majority of the community agrees that two tanks bopping each other back and forth and doing mostly nothing for 20 minutes of lane phase is not enjoyable, so buffing tanks without overtuning them is very difficult, since we never went to have league of tanks.

so dont pick a tank into a tank if youre a top laner. its not like this choice is completely out of your control

Also I stated that tanks should not be able to 1v1 bruisers. That makes you not want to play a tank top. Duh...

You obviously did not read the whole thing dude. I just stated that Tanks shouldn't be able to perform well against bruisers and should be developed and changed to fit the jungle and support roles.
