Gee Riot, That's a swell new Ult for Garen, but I read his other changes.

First off, let me say that I love Garen's new Ult. It's thematic, powerful, unique. These are what you were going for right? Garen's ult has always been a little lack luster. But it was impossible to buff because of the rest of his kit being too strong.

So naturally I had my suspicions when I read his gameplay update on your website. You can't hide things from the PBE.

So now comes the scolding.

I'm a little irritated that you didn't discuss the changes made to the rest of his kit. And these aren't just number changes, they're changes to his entire identity.

Basically, everything that made Tank Garen a thing has been nerfed.

His silence duration has been nerfed. His E base damage has been nerfed. his natural health per level has been nerfed. His passive health regen has been nerfed. His tenacity has been removed. His %passive armour bonus has been removed He now moves slower with his E activated on an enemy champion. His E no longer Crits.

Here's what they added beyond his ult.

Better ratio's on his damage. A passive armor stack on his W that functions similar to a Sion-Shyvana passive lovechild.

They've transformed his build path to be more damage focused, and less tanky. Punishing tank Garen and forcing him into being fighter Garen.

When I think of Garen, I think a tanky bruiser Whose in love with Spirit Visage and Black Cleaver, who has insane stick potential and is always in the front line, tanking damage and seeking out the enemy carry. Garen Goes where he pleases. he also had the identity of being the "anti melee carry". He was never a melee carry himself, unless pitted against another one.

Now, with his silence lowered, he's seriously vulnerable to Riven. Which is an odd choice since Riven players are usually not vulnerable to many champions.

This also makes chogath have the longest silence in the game, that is also AoE and ranged.

You lied to us about not changing his silence. And you flipped him upside down from being a tank, to a fighter.
