why do we get a lower grade if they surrender?

TLDR: i have seen other games where i should have gotten an S or S- or S+ and i didn't because they surrendered. WHY is that factored in.. that's the dumbest thing ever. in 6 more seconds we would have killed the nexus. why do i get a lower grade for them surrendering

http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2520594732/207008136?tab=overview nidalee used to be STUPID easy to get an S on even S+ were pretty easy

now when i do one of my best game in a while.. i only get an S

i have lvl 7 nidalee on two accounts i dont NEED another S or S+, but it felt kinda bad after that game not getting an S+

to some up the high points..

first blood 15 kill streak ( from the start of the game) highest vision score on both teams (2nd most wards placed) more kills than the rest of my team combined

i had enough gold for full build if i had backed...

I think they also lower the amount of IP everyone gets if someone surrenders too.

I have to admit that certainly is one of the more frustrating feelings League has to offer. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

That said I'm not 'entirely' sure that Surrendering effects your grade, directly that is. There have been a few raaare cases in memory that I snagged an S-rank from a surrender. It's not easy though.

I think the primary problem with the grade/surrender is that the grading system works purely off numerical stats. Kills, wards dropped, wards killed, objectives taken, ect. So when the enemy surrenders you don't have as much time to 'farm up' your grading stats.

Personally I've always like the idea that, if you've done well enough to force your enemy to surrender, the grading system should grant you 'half a grade' bonus to your standard grade.

In that way you still have to perform well but it's not longer a race against the 15 minute marker, requiring you to make some terribly risky choices in order to snag that coveted S.

Well, if you force a 15 minute surrender, and have to compete against the stats of people who are knocking on the nexus at 15 minutes, you're going to have less cs, towers, generally missing a teamfight, etc.
