Stop complaining about level gates.

I started this game late S2, and I remember it being Riven free week (the 1st champ I fell in love with before Wukong free week) when I finally got it downloaded.

Maybe I just stupid when I first started, but I'm definitely not somebody that needed a full rune page to customize at level 1.

Keep in my mind I played my whole 3rd season and half of the 4th never building a single defensive item. Every champ I used was a glass cannon. (This actually why burst assassins like LeBlanc, Annie, Talon, Ahri, Kassadin, Pantheon) were my favorites.

Didn't start building armor until I find out Wukong's ult is more effective if he can survive long enough to channel ults.

Again, not the type of player you also want to toss a pre-game strategy at when I didn't even understand in-game strategy.

What are you talking about, again? Your title, your topic sentence and your body have no correlation to each other. You have to stick to a point and push examples to emphasize that point. You're all over the place.

Are we talking about smurfs? Season 2? Hextech on Riven? You not knowing that you should've been building armor or wukong (which is subjective)? What is it that you're trying to tell me?

The tl;dr: Level gates are necessary because new players do stupid things and need protection from themselves.

i understand people shouldnt be allowed to just hop into any game mode at level one, i just think if youre going to unlock access to rune pages at a certain level, you should not deny access to custom pages.

edit: also, smurfs arent new players... theyre experienced players on new accounts. there is a huge difference.

Basically, the point of my post is that new players don't need to be customizing rune pages because they'll be in a worse position than with the pre-set.

You can't possibly be that slow to not comprehend what I'm saying. Allow me to reiterate in the simplest way possible.

my complaint was why let people use a tank preset page on an adc but not let them create their own page. do you see how that doesnt quite add up? either way their going to fuck up their game by choosing a bad preset, so why not lock them at the same level instead of saying "you cant access this untill level 8" then at level 8 opening up and saying "CONGRATULATIONS !!! you can pick a shitty preset that wasnt intended to be used by your role now but cant make a custom page untill level 11"

thats like opening a mcdonalds at 8am but not letting people buy anything untill noon.

i had this account for years before i played my first normal game, didnt even try ranked till the ass end of season 6. i vividly remember being annoyed at the fact that i could not use all of the runes or masterys until i maxed out my account and quitting the game for awhile after getting curb stomped in a normal game by some1 who was level 30. obviously i was retarded as far as league is concerned at the time (arguably still am but thats beside the point.) but it doesnt change the fact that it was very frustrating to feel like i had to play hundreds of bot games before i could lane against an actual person on an even playing field.

i made a thread earlier about how the rune pages are unlocked but unchangeable at lvl 8 until lvl 11 and i stand by my statement that it makes absolutely zero sense. what exactly is the point of showing players whats available and allowing them to switch the presets but not make a custom page? you only get free champs at the start and the only champs youre guaranteed after that are ashe garen and brand. so you play ashe a few games and it forces you to use press the attack with a decent secondary (gathering storm and ulti hat if im not mistaken). now youre level 8 and you can switch these rune pages, but only with other presets, why? whats the point? letting people fuck up their early game?

i dont get it.
