** Sona's been on the rise due to her ability to turn almost any extended fight in her favor.** While we like the Maven getting some recognition, we're looking to reduce her raw trading power so that the great Sonas will need to tightly manage their shields and auras rather than spamming W (that's a tactic for the 'good' Sonas).

Q - Hymn of Valor ON-HIT MAGIC DAMAGE AURA RATIO 0.25 ability power ⇒ 0.2 ability power W - Aria of Perseverance MISSING HEALTH RATIO +1% healing increase per 1% health missing ⇒ +0.5% healing increase per 1% health missing BASE HEAL 25/45/65/85/105 ⇒ 30/50/70/90/110 MANA COST 70/75/80/85/90 ⇒ 80/85/90/95/100

I Never see Sona at High Elo (streams EVER) . SaintVicious comment was the best " If I see sona at High Elo ( 1 fo 122132321 games) . Im gonna get free kill evry time i gank there" .

Im Plat 3 Player. I NEVER SEE sona at Plat lvl . I never Saw sona at GOLD lvl . I just don't get.

I see Tresh , Tresh , Tresh , Tresh.. more tresh ? Nami , Janna , Soraka. Event Blitz.. Just tell me where is that rise of Sona's players ?:)

i occasionally play sona in normals and see a couple in bronze. I played her with couple points into the health masteries in the defense tree (and the rest into utility cuz i was support). yet she still started out 430 health. I was like wtf because most champs have at least 500-600 health level 1

The balance team is severely biased against Sona, hence the original nerfs made by Fearless. Since her pick rate isn't 0% yet, they're using the trolly "win-rate" excuse to nerf her even further in the hopes to discourage even more people from picking her and intentionally feeding.

I figured her win rate was so high because she was sort of a niche support so the people who'd play her in ranked were arguably really good with her.

That's exactly true, players will always fair better on champions that are comfort picks. They instinctively understand how to play the champion and all their tricks by second nature thanks to having lots of experience and practice, not just on that champion, but in the role itself. The average player when placed in an inexperienced role will tend to fall back on OP champs with high pick-rates like Thresh who they rarely use and will skew the win-rates with their losses.

That's exactly what I thought happened most of the time because most people don't seem to realize that counterpicking for the sake of counterpicking is rarely ever a good idea.

Well, I play Sona (but I've always played Sona). The mana and health regen changes may affect things in interesting ways too, but we'll see I suppose. Not happy about it, mind you, I felt she was in a pretty good spot already, and I'm surprised they decided to hit both healing and damage. Interesting that they would up her base heal at the same time, not sure what it is supposed to accomplish.

Lower her late game scaling with regard to her heals and the aura scaling from her Q I guess?

That's what it feels like it's done.
