I would like to talk about Swain . Simple question Why you never looked him after last nerfs. Im Platinum Player last season and I loved the Bird

To community and you . Guess who was the Counter part Vs Assasins. THE BIRD . SWAIN He was nerfed . Let me tell you he is also IMMOBILE Mage with dots. He was perfect Counter (in my small eyes) Vs Assasin and Fighters

After those nerfs I can't even stand Assasins now. Most Burst Mages Killin me. Sustain Mages killin me. Assasins Killin me . Fighers with small dush/jump Killing me

There is Any Hope you can revert at some sort his last nerfs ?

Swain's one of the champions we're looking at for smaller adjustments in the mid season mage patch, along the lines of those Lucian and Twitch got in the Marksmen update. No confirmed direction/details for those changes yet though.

That sounds like a good idea. Swain's too predictable and easy to outplay. All you ever have to do is waveclear and roam while he struggles to clear mid. This is why I think he didn't need a nerf. I don't think such a style is actually good in competitive or higher ELO. I've played him a lot before giving up on him due to this exact reason. You're an amazing duelist and teamfighter but they can just waveclear and avoid you/splitpush. If he had solid mana efficient waveclear he'd probably be broken though.

He is also a massive lane bully, the W nerf was to nerf his ability to catch and hold people in the early game.

Swain is sleeper op right now. Dude hits like a truck and post lvl 6 with one item you can't duel him 1v1. (Same problem with fizz)

I´m not that sure, Swain is quite good now. Of course he can be easily countered by split-pushing and similar, but that doesnt require a rework, only small buffs in the items/habilities. I mean, look at Morde. Sometimes you do nice reworks to make interesting champs like Shen, other times you Rework a champion in a way it becomes a monster, like Poppy, or the case of the Juggernauts. So i dont think the Swain case requires a rework, only an adjusment

the snare duration nerf made swains bad early game just abysmal. you don't even have enough time to e+q after hitting a max range w just because it feels like it doesn't even snare at all. its not even a good ganking move or a counter ganking move early cause the snare duration is almost nonexistant. not to mention missing it is extremely punishing with its high mana cost and cd.

He's just another casualty of a double nerf. They nerfed him because he had OP synergy with DFT, then they nerfed the fuck out of him and DFT. Now a lot of people are running him with thunderlord's. They needed to nerf one or the other, not both. They should revert his changes.

Honestly the Swain issue is one of the things that really makes me think there is a huge AD biased problem with the balance team.

Swain and Brand started getting up there in win% with Swain around 54% (I own Swain I think hes cool so I remember his %) and they were like "OH NO, cant have that, NERFS!"

Graves sits up at the number 1 win % in the game for a while, then patch time comes around and no Graves nerfs, just a mention that "he may have to be checked."

WTF!?

Swain wasnt #1 in the game gets immediate nerfs, Graves (who was on sale during that patch...) goes through two patches as #1 in jungle, top lane, and like #3 as ADC with the overall highest win % in the game, no panic fixes for him...

Swain also got what people referred to as "Sejuanied" - Verb, to nerf the champion because of their synergy with an item or ability, then to have said item or ability nerfed and leave the original champion nerfs in play thus ultimately just nerfing a champion to make them weaker than they were before said item or ability.

Swain got nerfed, then Deathfire Touch got changes, Swain left as is; he got Sejuanied.

I mean tell me if Im off, but honestly its starting to feel like the balance team is throwing darts. I think there may be a magnet behind the "buff AD champs" part of the dart board.

We should probably nerf him again. People apparently still pick him on occasion. I have Ornithophobia and champions like Swain, Fiddle, Quinn, Azir, Anivia etc ruin my enjoyment of the game. I can't even jungle because of it. Please fix rito.

As a swain player myself, i do see the purpose, as a top mage. Swain decimates due to him being a ranged poke/sustain mage but mid, he struggles against almost every opponent especially ones such as fizz or zed with their dashes and invulnerability states and huge amount of burst which paired with ignite or grievous wounds counters poor swain entirely.

as i swain main i love swain , he carried me out from silver to plat i had 200 games with him in ranked in like 4 months i didnt play him alot this season but my wins are 8 for 1 loss as swain the only thing was changed in him with the nerf that i max w second instead of q thats all he is fine and he is good i dont see any reason to change him or rework him

I remember reading that They are planning on giving swain a full relaunch, so they decided to not to picking to focus on in the immobile mage update. As for small changes, well, Meddler already said they are going to look at him for smaller changes :p.

Hi, I just logged in because I noticed a lot of flame on how weak swain is atm. I've been picking him in low gold and basically dominating versus the assassins that you've stated are destroying you. I love his current design and I'm just confused why he would need a rework. Unpopular =/= needs a rework in my eyes. Please don't change the essence of swain if you plan to because the ult is so cool -- it reminds me of warlocks in WoW but reverse (instead of sacrificing health for mana, you mana for hp) since you have to balance his mana regen with hp regen. Plus, I don't think I've ever run out of mana on Swain unless I'm in a fight for longer than 15 seconds. Thoughts?

Swain should've been buffed in the first place, not nerfed; he was already a niche pick; either by hardcore fans or the occasional random trying him out. Of course riot has to spite us more, as if it wasn't obvious enough they don't care about balance.
