Support Question - Why Not Braum?

I've been working off of a Reddit "Top Tier S6" list for awhile attempting to anticipate picks and counters this season. I play a lot of support, and as I'm looking at the top level ADC's, it seems like they can be fairly hard-countered by Braum. But Braum isn't listed as a top tier support.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the top tier is: Caitlyn, Graves, Sivir, Kalista, Jinx (and I assume MF given how often I see her). Assuming that's true, Braum's E alone shouts down 4 of 6 ults. His CC should rob Kalista and Sivir of their strengths.

So how come no ?

You're wrong about what ADCs are good. Top tier ADCs are MF, Lucian, Ezreal, Graves. The other ADCs are viable but not as great (excl. Kog'maw)

Yeah I was surprised when he listed Caitlyn as one of the top tier ADCs.

I'm telling you what I'm reading. But the ADC's you're putting up there don't change the fact that Braum should be considered a high level support. But what do I know. I was just hoping to get some feedback.

I don't know, to me, being able to negate an enemy ADC seems like a huge benefit.

"Should" is meaningless.

He is not, that is what matters.

If you want to play Braum, do it, no one is stopping you.

He is terrible at securing kills and his peel is surprisingly only adequate even compared to aggressive support ( Alistar Leona etc.).

His defensive/protective capabilities overall are also only second-best with Janna still reigning champion.

I find braum strong tbh very strong its just that some people like other supports better. I find him better than a few of the supports but for certain "occasions". I guess with top tier champions now the other supports have better synergy with the adcs on top now.
