Why Jungle Hate Ganking Bot
There are many variables involved to determine if ganking bot will result in a success.
Additionally, many bot lanes try to shove to the enemy turret hard. If it is the enemy bot lane doing it when I am jungle, great! I can gank that...maybe. But if it's my bot lane doing it...well then it sucks to be me because it looks like I'm having hard feeders that game.
From a support perspective, I NEVER push past river unless the enemy is dead. From a jungle perspective, I check the mini map often to see what lane is doing what and where. Anything past river is a no go for ganks. I don't do turret dives unless there's at least 2+ tanks involved and they're the ones taking the aggro and even then it's only on low health enemies too dumb to back down and back off.
So, anyway, when it comes to ganking bot lane, the jungle is expected to rely on not only one but two absolute strangers to follow up. An ideal gank for bot lane is as follows
- Jungle pings that they are on their way, but only when they are actually nearby.
- Jungle targets one of the two enemy bot laners to be the focus of the attack.
- Bot laners subtly move into position so that whatever crowd control they have at their disposal can be used to lock down the target.
- The enemy is either killed or forced to burn their summoner spells.
The problem is that the jungler is placing themselves in a vulnerable spot when it comes to ganking bot. Without the ideal follow up from reliable allies (and who honestly gets those?) they become the prime target of the enemy bot lane's combined CC and damage. Also, they alert other enemies, possibly a nearby enemy jungle, to their presence and risk being collapsed in the process of attempting to supply aid to bot lane.
Bot lane is an extremely high risk venture for jungle and the reward is maybe the ADC gets ahead and maybe the ADC puts their lead to good use instead of blowing it on a tossed match.
