Comes to lane - presses Q - goes away. Comes back again - presses Q - goes away. God forbid you try to fight him once, when you're actually able to get to him, then he just presses EQ on you and gets a mini ghost built in, because why not. If you actually dmg him somehow to low health, he turns the clock back woopty doo and runs away again or just instakills you with it. I hate this fucking champ from my core, don't even mention the tankekko, I wanted to uninstall this game every time I saw that shit.

I played against Ekko just yesterday.

Sure he's balanced, but do you think it's a fun and challenging lane when all he does is Q the minion wave and E away from anything you try to throw at him while he completely ignores any chances to engage himself?

I don't know. Ekko has the same annoyance factor that Yasuo has. You know where he can block any ranged shot, because his wind wall comes from inside of him. I remember playing Veigar against Ekko and i ulted him. The ball hit him 100% when he had 10% hp left right as the ball disappeared to explode on him he ults and mine is now on Cool down and he is back to where he was earlier to kill me. He did that to me over 4 times, before I said fuck it and never ulted him again unless I knew his ult was down.

Ehh he's not too bad. Anyone who can also burst, is mobile, has sustain, or has any tank steroid can do decently well against him. That leaves a lot of possibilities.

You can really shit-talk the interactivity of any lane match-up to be fair.

The issue is it prevents coming to him. He keeps running in a strait line, but now you have to zig-zag to dodge the Q, meaning he gains distance.

Thats the definition of you having to zig-zag. You have to change direction to dodge it, then change again to continue going toward Ekko. It isn't a big elaborate Z shape, but you are no longer running directly at Ekko while he is able to be running directly away from you. So in a situation where you both have equal MS (which is unlikely, because Ekko tends to build a Lichbane, maybe not first item but he'll build one almost every single game if AP), this means you will never catch him if he's throwing Qs behind him as he runs.

If you instead decide to keep coming strait at Ekko, you instead get slowed (And thanks to the fact that Ekko maxes Q first pretty much exclusively, it's a fairly strong slow), so either you take an indirect route (indirectly being slowed down by the fact you have to "waste" MS not moving toward Ekko) or eat an actual slow that just reduces your MS normally. He also has a free-targeted dash and can apply the threat of a stun if you keep following him. Ekko is one of the hardest champions in the game to chase quite frankly.

Biggest thing to note is that he's an assassin. Assassin's shouldn't have such safe lane phases because they are often able to kill enemies really well.

I think he gets the shield and heal because he isnt an assassin and more like skirmisher who has to go in and out of fights while still needing to build pure dmg.

The thing is Ekko can't kill most squishies in a single rotation unless he manages to hit his ult, or he is fed. So the shield/stun is to make it so he can make a few situations where he can get some damage off first. Then when they are lower, he can kill them with his combo + W passive.

This tactic eventually becomes useless once adcs get life steal, but then he should have enough AP where they get killed by the full combo.

Neither can Ekko. Ahri's Q only costs like 10 more mana but deals more damage (and it's true damage on the way back) while being faster.

Ok but he's also a melee assassin that can't really 100-0 unless he's super ahead or lands his ult damage.

His only real escape in a teamfight is his ult, you're far too squishy to run out even with your passive. He's just good in skirmishes. Because of his ability to kite in and out.

its almost like you can pick any mage. and harass him before he autos minions. you can harass him out of lane if thats his playstyle

he cannot clear minion waves with 1 Q. it takes a Q and few autos or two Qs.

I do. It helps quite a lot actually, gives you the little more sustain in lane.

It's the difference between casting 50 spells in lane before you back or 55.

If you force your lane opponent to use a lot of mana you will outsustain him.

Not saying it's the best option, but it certainly isn't bad.
