Diana hasent hit 50% or over win rate in ages

Succubús GF··28 votes·1,921 views

Are we going to talk about how champion.gg doesn't even have a jungler slot for her anymore? Or the fact that she simply hasen't been over 50% in a long time. In fact I don't think I have even seen her hit a solid 50 than hm, season 6? I may be exaggerating and maybe one patch she was super strong but that seems to escape me. They did some b.s compensation e buff but that's all ive seen for her

She's super weak right now. Before she was a niche mid laner since everything she did, something did better and was also good mid lane pre-6 (ekko, ahri, kat, kassadin, fizz).

Additionally, changes to item 3001 also hurt her, since she lost some of her damage and because item 3102 is a go to MR item, she can't get her Q onto the carries she's going for as easily. (ap mid laners)

As for jg diana, that died with a lot of junglers with the preseason jungle camp changes, she simply cannot thrive in a meta where early game jungle pressure is key, and the jungle clear itself is brutal.

Diana is just too much of a "generalist" and lacks any specific identity where most mid assassins have a way in, a utility, and in most cases a way out. Diana doesn't have much utility, her way in is unreliable, and her escape is usually not going to happen.

I find that unless Diana is stupidly ahead she wont survive in an all in in a teamfight. I wish theyd rework her to where she is either a) an assassin like she is meant to be played or b) reworked into an actual diver like her class was designed for

Vallalan11 votes

this is because her kit is legitimately cancer and stupidly binary.

she's in akali territory for needing a gameplay rework.

if she needed a visual update like akali id imagine she'd get a VGU.

they will definitely update her in the diver rework which is most likely next.

for now she definitely needs to stay weaker for when she's good she is far too easy to snowball and dominate games with. just like akali.

A Bepi8 votes

Thing is she wasn't really made to be an assassin but rather of a diver fighter type of champion. People just built her and played her as an assassin since her damage was exceptionally high. At least this is what riot has stated on Diana's behalf

Zerenza2 votes

I use Arcsecond's build path for her, it combines her Assassin and diver playstyles pretty well, assassin early game, skirmisher late game. item 3029 item 3115 item 3157 item 3089 tank item+Boots of your choice. The thing with this build is that you'll be able to deal a crap ton of damage with ROA and Nashor's as your first two items, you'll also be able to 1v1 tanks and other diver's/fighter's effectively, when you get zhonya's you can engage for your team with Q+R+E+Zhonya's and by then you'll have 3000 health anyway because diana has some ridiculous base health at level 16(usually when i end up with zhonya's) death cap to keep up with ADC's damage and a tank item to make yourself even harder to kill, it works tremendously well. 53% Winrate and i should note i am mastery 6 with her almost mastery 7 so even though my Op.GG doesn't show more than 15 games with her i know for a fact i'v played PLENTY more with that and i always find success with her.

It should be noted that Arcsecond was rank 1 for almost the entirety of last year, with diana, he also is currently sitting at Master's with Arcsecond, Diamond 1 with Arcminute and Diamond 2 with Archour. All while having over 200 games with diana, not combined but on each account.

Hoping for an asssassin since dont have that many ap ones theres only like 4 counting lb

Some of these may be in-between but... Kassadin Leblanc Akali Elise Evelynn Fizz Katarina

Probs missing a few, you get my point tho.

not gonna lie I keep forgetting that eve is supposed to be an assassin. Also thought elise was a diver cause of the cc and limited mobility

Skins Project1 votes

Hmm..

Once again some are in-between but...

Elise has a CC that lasts long enough for Q human form, which does dmg based off how high you are( like bork) then a spider burst, transform, q again which is the execute (based off missing). Idk. Screams assassin 2 me (In the way of a spider, not quite fast but damn does it trap n kill u)

Tormentula1 votes

Well as as elise main, I will say playing her mid full ap does have a similar playstyle to playing diana, except roams pre-6 are strong and there is no level 6 power spike, you're just always powerful vs. your lane.

Additionally she's a niche pick, as in she's a great counter vs. Zed Syndra thanks to rappel. Can't really think of what match up you'd pick diana for.

She is technically a fighter, but like diana her crazy burst is primarily what she's about. Of course I'm speaking on mid elise vs. mid diana, which clearly isn't seen often. I'd consider her an Assassin with full AP builds, and a diver with anything else.

Yesh she has an identity crisis. She has the kit of both an assassin and a diver. Her kit should be more toward a diver with fighter-like capabilities, but she just outright assassinates people if she's fed. That's why she needs a rework.

hhaavviikk9 votes

then again she can't be made too strong either for the same reason akali can't be made too strong, long range point & click gap closer

THE RlVER KlNG3 votes

Except Akali is actually pretty good right now and way more overbearing than Diana

and that's a problem due to akali's 3 charge point & click dash

Prestige AkaIi1 votes

She's in an alright spot right now. I can agree that she's stronger than Diana right now but that's partly due to her extremely bad early game becoming safer with removal of pink wards, the added blink on W and the new Doran's shield combo.

I still wouldn't go as far to say she's in a good spot right now though, the only reason her winrate hasn't declined too much since the rework is that only diehard mains are playing her.

Azir:

Diana's not the only one with that problem.

Eedat5 votes

Azir is the exact opposite of Diana. Diana is weak because her kit is super binary and the only reason she is ever meta is because her numbers are too high. Azir is intentionally kept weak because he does everything far too well in the right hands when he's kept viable

Lauchmelder1 votes

To be honest, his current state isn't even half as bad, Riot just needs to adjust some early numbers and he would be more than just fine. It just feels like they say that he needs a rework so they don't have to deal with testing what changes he actually needs.

DoktorKaiser3 votes

Honestly she is just AIDS to play against, she has the single most no-counterplay burst in the entire game now that Rengar is reworked, she can 1 shot you from half a screen away and if she doesnt then she will most certainly die very easily and do absolutely nothing for her team. She reeeeeeeaaally needs a rework, a full rework. Her kit just sucks imo, its totally unoriginal, they should only keep her Q and try to make something fun and interactive with the rest of her kit.

Orangesilk3 votes

She needs to hit that Q, either that or she's massively fed.

She's one of the few assasins with counterplay actually, you dodge the Q, that's it.

Leetri3 votes

I'll be completely honest, I'd rather never see Diana in game ever again. I hate playing against her with a fiery passion with her stupid high damage, CC, gap closer and tankyness. BUT, I also want all champions to be viable cause I know how it feels when people say "why would you pick that?" in champion select (pre-rework Viktor lyfe). Riot's probably gonna keep her weak until they've reworked her. She's too binary, as others have pointed out. All we can do is hope the rework comes sooner than later, I guess.

rtbf2256182412 votes

Because her kit is just a binary engage tool combined with "If you have enough damage to burst them in one go, you're not fucked".

She needs some form of a rework. Other than that, she's weak as hell right now.

The Yetii Rider2 votes

Diana is too bursty to be a diver and too tanky to be an assassin. So Riot took her and Rengar and smashed their kneecaps back in Season 3 or 4. She definitely needs to be one of Riot's main reworks in the diver update at the end of the season.

I think her E should be swapped with her R. Her Dash can deal 0 damage and have a lower base CD, while her Vacuum can have a wider radius, a larger displacement, and Ground champions affected so they basically have to try and fight her to live.

PePsiLemoNN2 votes

Good , never wanna see her again

HalcyonDweller2 votes

I agree, Diana needs work.

But if you want a champion to get changes you ought to discuss and analyze how and why they are weak, and maybe even propose some possible solutions to improve them.

Just quoting statistics is a cop out. It doesn't solve the problem or progress the idea.

And it's too easy to find misleading statistics, therefore many people won't take that sort of argument seriously in the first place.

Ganked By Tilt2 votes

I want them to keep her as an assassin, we need more ap assassins. Diana is the opposite of Leona she should be bursty, They should rework her passive and E and rework W or balance it properly. She should have a play pattern that revolves around moonlight and not just do dmg, I actually wanna see her have something with the moon.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

She's currently classified as a fighter/mage....

So yeah. But I get and agree with you.

Miraweave1 votes

Diana's not ever going to be insane in coordinated play, but she's actually really good in solo queue right now. The AP item changes were incredibly good for her because she can easily get away with building 6 "defensive" items now.

dont feed the trolls pls...

A Bepi1 votes

Riot just d oesnt want her in a good spot since her design was pretty badly made (balance wise). Whenever she was strong, she was completely destroying games and whenever she was ok she was still doing a lot. I would say she is still strong IF you actually take the time to main her but then again you are better off playing akali.

Moonfall Saber1 votes

The e "buff" was a Nerf. I'm a Diana main. I honestly hate the e change because it limits her escape. Now you pull enemies on top of you rather than just aoe slow.

Magical Zoe1 votes

You will obviously know a lot more on Diana then me, but still. Diana is a diver which means divers will usually have little to no escape>Vi XinZhao Nocturne Pantheon Warwick Elise Hecarim Irelia Aatrox Evelynn Her E works really well for since she has to be able to pull run away enemies toward her to get her autos off and to Q when needed.

Elikain1 votes

Diana's pattern is pretty strong, to be honest. She mostly plays like a 100-0 burst assassin than what she is supposed to be doing and that isn't healthy as Riot already did give assassins a delay on their combos slightly. Her pattern really closely resembles the old Akali and that's something i really hate about her.

THE RlVER KlNG1 votes

That's the worst argument you could have picked. I can't list on two hands the number of champions who also haven't hit over 50% wr in a season or two.

Leblancs Boob1 votes

Diana is unplayable right now. At the very least she needs mana cost reductions across the board, The Doran's ring nerf is just going to make her even worse.

THE D1C1 votes

Let's have her E proc Moonlight(also maybe slow?) also but just give R an internal CD that scales like Qs cooldown. This way you can say put some stacks into W to clear with her better without sacrificing the gimmick of Q+R. It would add some play making (W>Flash>E>R) Sure you'd have to play "offtank" Diana for this to work since you're Fd without your flash. 100-0 isn't healthy anyways. The problem with Diana is she is 2 linier, she can ONLY max Q first. It's like playing Vi sure you can E instead of Q and it hurts her gank potential but it doesn't make her unplayable. Diana maxing anything but Q does that to her.

Hupsis1 votes

You guys forgetting what roster update is coming next? Divers... and Diana is most likely a candidate for that.

She'll never be good in the jungle unless they give her some early power or rework some parts of her kit. It's been always like this.

She was extremely broken before. She is not bad now simply not meta. She was horrible to face with almost no counterplay.

They did mention divers as the potential next class update, diana is one of those yeah? would be a great time to look at her.

Late game champ in a early game meta.

DaNinad1 votes

An Idea, maybe not that good but, maybe give her r something like karmas? I mean give it the first level already included, but make the damage like 50, then spike up to normal levels. This will help her a little pre 6.

Death by Glamour1 votes

i think the last time she was considered atleast ban worth was during or just before the jugger update

KoKoboto1 votes

Yeah like why pick Diana when you can pick Akali or Ekko...

FurriesAreHot1 votes

Not all characters who are strong have high winrates. Especially characters that are higher in complexity, like Diana. Now, Diana is no Azir, but she still has a play style that is rather unique.
